I have a pair of recaro's left over from my ford RS days and want to know if anyones ever fitted Ford seats to a Disco and if so was it easy?. Gonna have a go at it anyways but it would just be nice to hear from someone with experience ;)

Finally drove it :eek: :D Well pleased and ready for a weekend of mud plugging now (might even fit the snorkel) ;)

One reason is that the heat involved in gas welding is quite extreme and creates a lot of distortion when working with thinner materials and plate steel etc ........... where as with MIG, TIG and even ARC the heat produced is more localised ;) First weld i ever did was with gas and getting...

Got it running ................ YIPPEE :D :D It was totaly by accident funnily enuff as i only wanted to check that the starter motor worked but it just fired and away it went :eek: ....... engines been stood the best part of 3 months unstarted :p ......... always knew it was a good lump but...

With regards the steering guard and recovery point queries ....... I have seen folks weld the original towing brackets from the rear of a Disco (egg shaped with one small hole and a larger one for the shackle) onto their steering guards ......... would this be ok as i'm thinking of doing it to...

YUP i use em :D Dont seem to do 3 bad TBH but tighter block spacing in the center area means they dont clear sticky mud quite as well as the BFG's .......... but is that really gonna bother you with the price difference??? :p :rolleyes: On the road they are fine if a little noisey ...

Well chaps that Disco is now being broken up as i have a new one that needed the engine replacing ............. So engine from rusty green heap now resides in rusty blue heap :p :D

Now where as the handbrake may not affect the diff by direct fitment to it .... it is worth adding to the above paragraph (which could be interpreted as advising the use of the hand brake to slow the vehicle when in motion) :rolleyes: ............... DO NOT apply the hand brake when the vehicle...
