I like the smaller rims because I like more tyre. 15" with a 31 10.5 on it is heaven. Many go big rim (height) and low aspect tyre which is fine but just isn't me. A larger rim means a smaller aspect tyre if the speedo is to remain something like accurate and not illegal. On a 225 17 it would...

Yes I am using them cos I had them already as "extras". You might find a better alternative. Just need to do the math.;) Paj will fit too I am certain but will be 7" ( I don't recall a 6.5" in them) so you'd be looking at ¼ " more in and out.

Yes, although a complicated way of doing business the ET system tends to work but I prefer backspace guidance but generally that info is only really in use in the US. Don't forget the offset depends on wheel width - 6.5s I think are 40 ET on the Fl's 15" alloys so on a 6.5 wide a 38 (as per...

As long as the centre bore is not smaller then if you know the bores you can get spigots off ebay or such. This helps with your size http://www.wheel-size.com/size/land-rover/freelander/2001/ As far as compatible PCDS and ETs (backspace/offset) etc. are concerned this is a useful tool...

Just a thought. The LR PCD blah blah blah is the same on FTO wheels. They come in a 6.5" width, are 16s and have the exact same design as the LR wheels. Two advantages are they are as cheap as chips and have a little less backspace, just a few mm (ET is 38 compared to the LR 40) but it...

That's a concern - I haven't driven mine apart from a test drive and TBH didn't notice that the brakes were any weaker than others. I guess time will tell.

Thanks. I like your red :)cos with the back off it'll be an eye catcher but I do like any red and I do like my red. Got to admit I looked for a while for an auto.

    Parts list

Point taken ta. Chose the eBay one in the end (still new) as it was a bit cheaper. I'm used to having trouble sourcing parts for my Junior so this is all very nice.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Did the VCU test today. 3 minutes to drop 45° with 1200cm lever and 5kg weight.

    Parts list

Hey ho, perfect thanks. Looks like it is a catch assembly for the quarterlight CPL 100251. Found one on ebay but could I ask if there is a recommended supplier besides allbrit?

    Parts list

Is there a parts list for FL 1 on the site please - mine is a 2001 Kalahari 3 door TD4 Auto. I need to get a new catch for a window and because I don't know how to describe it I can't find it anywhere despite Googling for ages. A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks

Freelander 1 The air filter housing on Diesel 2001

From what I read it seems that the bolts can get over tightened with Gorilla strength and that makes a daymare into a nightmare. :D

Freelander 1 The air filter housing on Diesel 2001

Yup, TD4 FL1. Not done it before (done loads of others though) so watched a few vids to see what's what and seemed to get the idea that it is a problem undoing the two allen bolts at the back.

Yes cheers it worked. Seems a bit more room in that vehicle for access to the rear allen bolts.

    Busy bees

It looks like bees tried to make a home in a headlight. I thought of using a vacuum and a pipe through the bulb housing but is there a better way?

About buying a crock of ......................

Don't like to use ****. Just read the thread on it. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/buying-a-crock-of-or-if-you-already-have.76002/ Let me begin by saying I love Mitsubishi. I wish I had seen this thread two years ago when I got a Pinin - it was a true lemon. I could list all of the...

    Mudflaps

Well they are off. You were dead right thanks. I just had to have enough room for a big screwdriver with a big broad blade so the rear wheels had to come off. I can either bin them or someone can have them for a pint and postage.
