Freelander 1 The air filter housing on Diesel 2001

Thanks. I only have a screwdriver 1/4" drive flexi extension in my kit which is really short but I have some wobble extensions in 3/8" which I wondered would get down there with an allen bit on the end. What length flexi is yours cos I'll look on eBay for a cheapie?

Freelander 1 The air filter housing on Diesel 2001

Getting round to changing the air filter soon for my first time and I have seen youtube vids of it - very scary. Is there a preferred tool or approach to the two allen bolts that are at the back by the firewall?

    Bit late I guess

Thanks for the welcome. You are very right. :D However, I could very easily part with the Freelander as quickly as I got it, nowt is set in stone at the mo especially as my daily ride is my Pajero which I love even though it is 25 years old. In the background you see my Pajero...

    Mudflaps

I know most want mudflaps but I want to remove mine. I have no manual etc. yet and would love to know if the things holding the flaps on are screws or something unusual. They look like slotted screws but as this is 15 years old they won't budge. Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Bit late I guess

I suppose I should have started at the introductions forum first but here I am now! Been a devout Suzuki and Mitsubishi fan for 30 years but did have just the one very old Landrover back in the eighties. So now I am trying a very old Freelander which arrived just yesterday.

    Freelander 1 17TN remote fob

Hello John. Yes after 30 years of Japanese 4x4s it is a big change but worry not I still have my two Mitsy ones. lol;) I saw the one wheel up test - I'll get to it pretty soon but have some incidentals to attend to first and weather. I was going to paint the props either side of the VCU to see...

    Freelander 1 17TN remote fob

New battery in key fob and lock button works wahay. However, is it by any chance normal that the unlock only unlocks the driver's door cos it doesn't make seem sensible? It seems to me that the central locking module may have a fault or could it be in the doors. Arghhhhh, I am at it already and...

Cheers. I'll have a bash in the morning. Is the actual key coded. Being a 2000 model I wondered if I can just get another key cut for the ignition.

    Freelander 1 17TN remote fob

Thanks. So it is the same as for an MG etc. This is the bit I wondered about thanks. I was a bit worried that if the battery has been dead a while it might need more fiddling.

    Freelander 1 17TN remote fob

Hello to you all. As I have not had a Landrover since I had a 20 year old one in about 1985 (which may have been a series 11 SWB) I thought it would be a good idead to join a forum. So here I am. I have just this minute had my 2000 Freelander 1 delivered by transporter. I have only one key...
