I thought the Diesels in the S3 was a bit shoddy? Whats the performance and economy like out on the 2.25 Petrol?

Ta, i'd be looking to do some off roading too, my dads got a classic and a 90, he doesnt take them laning, but i do some servicing and work on them now and again :)

I could go for a S3, if i could get something decent for 2K, do you reckon? Is the performance "safe" on a S3 though?

I have a 93 3.9 Classic on Air suspension, which works, but the switches are inop... Can someone give some ideas please, on what it could be, and how to go about starting to rectify it? TIA

The mileage can always be upped afterwards though, i'm not trying to scam the insurance, i'd make sure it was all legit. To school, there is a coach, so it would be more like a occasional weekend car, and to go on camping trips etc, but yeah, if it went over, i would notify them :) Thanks...
