    Clock losing time

Hi guys Last weekend I got into the RR to find that the clock was about 6 hours slow, so I adjusted the time and all appeared to be well. Used the RR on both the Saturday and Sunday - all ok. Went to use it again today, and again the clock was showing the wrong time! Adjusted it again, and...

    Lpg

I bought a 2000 4.6 Vogue and had it converted to run on LPG just over a year ago. I've covered around 12K miles including two trips to France - the multipoint LPG setup has worked fine, returning between 20-22mpg on average (much the same as on petrol). :D

Coil springs! Why would anyone do that to the car!

You guys who've changed to coils will generally have changed shocks at the same time. It follows that your ride will feel much better (assuming quality and appropriate parts are used) than the old air bags and shocks might have provided before the work was done. I guess the same effect is...

23 months and 18000 trouble free miles......

Hi Keith Happy New Year! You must have changed somthing to annoy the cats - like others in France, they're simply protesting! Have you changed the cat food recently?:D

Help sourcing hose - top of radiator to expansion tank

Hi Guys I'm trying to find a replacement hose for my RR 4.6 V8 - the one that goes from the top of the radiator to the expansion tank. I've tried the usual sources but none of the websites appear to have it listed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

    headlights

A note of caution - should you have a fire as a result of the higher wattage bulbs, your insurance wouldn't pay up. They'd say that you'd caused the fire by overloading the wiring!

    headlights

Upping the wattage is never a good idea. More watts means more amps being drawn through your wiring - not a good idea in any vehicle, but particularly not a good idea on a P38 where much of the electricals are controled via the BECM etc.

    headlights

The standard dipped beams onmy P38 were rubish when I first bought it - tried the "extreme brilliance" replacement bulbs when they were on 2 for 1 at Halfrauds - what a difference.

Why can't you take LPG cars on the Eurotunnel?

The ferry operators apply that rule - you must switch the system off and board and disembark whilst running on petrol. That said, nobody has ever checked that that's what I've been doing!

Hevec heater control... How the bloody hell???

The orange light blinking means that the AC has been unable to achieve the temperature set on the display - read the handbook! The AC is off when the orange light in ON. You can turn the fans off by turning the round button to the left until all of the segments on the fan speed display disappear.

Indicator Bulb Failure message after headlamp unit change

OK - took the light guard and the indicator housing off the RR to try to find out what's going on. Took the bulb holder out and removed the bulb. Turns out that the buld holder has two possible orientations for the bulb (due to the offset of the bulb lugs) but only one of these actually has the...

Indicator Bulb Failure message after headlamp unit change

Yes - I've taken the day off work tomorrow to try to sort it out before the snow hits! It's typical - last year when we had snow the RR was in the garage having some work done. I'm damned if I'm going to miss the fun this year because of a failed bulb/connection!

Indicator Bulb Failure message after headlamp unit change

Hi guys Changed the passenger side headlamp unit on the weekend after it developed a hole and filled with water! Checked all the lights once finished only to find a message on the dash pointing to a left hand indicator bulb failure. Changed the bulb today but no joy . All other indicators...

    LPG systems

I used Profess about a year ago. The did the job in a (long) day. They provided a certificate which has naturally been shared with my insureres who had no problem with it. Similarly, the certificate was requested by the DVLA when i changed the registration - again with no problem. In terms of...

    P38a 4.6 LPG Conversion

My last fill of LPG delivered 276.4 miles travelled for a cost of £49. Petrol around here is around £1.24, so this gives an equivalent of just over 32mpg. This was a mix of rural, urban and motorway driving. IMO that's better than I'd get on diesel with all the enjoymnt of that V8 power :).

    P38a 4.6 LPG Conversion

Hi Lizalandy I have a 2000 4.6 V8 converted to LPG by Profess just over a year ago. The conversion cost me £1400 all-in and included a 2year guarantee. They did the conversion in a day (08:00 - 19:30) and gave me a car to use while they were doing the conversion. I've just been back for the...

    light gards on or off?

I bought mine without, but the previous owner had them fitted and removed before the sale, leaving me with some nasty holes in all four corners - no real option but to replace the guards. That said, it doesn't look too bad!

How much is LPG in your area?

Maybe an answer for all the queations about LPG

Just had my LPG setup serviced - new filter and a quick check on the installers laptop - for £40. The first tank of gas since the service (75 litres) and I've got 270 miles on the trip and still going! :D
