    Lift Kit Group Buy

I would be interested in a shorter kit as well (20-25mm). Understand that it will be next to impossible for you to weld it up (by the way, it DOES look very nice!), but what about CNC cutting them from a solid block of stainless steel, or maybe aluminium? Would that be a possibility?

    Britpart VCU

Ah, ok - thanks jamesmartin and Litch. Did you drive with the faulty GKN VCU? Hope they swopped all from the faulty batch at Britpart (if they did get the faulty ones as well)!

Anybody interested in a batch of smaller more compact back boxes...?

Hi SES88 - do you still have back boxes left, or are you planning on another batch? Would like to get one... :)

    Britpart VCU

Hi. I just got one from island4x4, it's the same - the damper is marked with GKN, but no marking on the VCU itself. Is it save to assume that it's a GKN then? It came in a Britpart box... Bearings came in GKN boxes, so guess they are ok then.

    Hi from Denmark

Thanks a lot :) Yeah, read the thread where people put in their miles for it, and it looked like it could last much longer. If age is not a factor, then I guess there's two choices: Test it once in a while, or change it for peace of mind ;) Third option is really not an option...

    Hi from Denmark

Thank you all :) Can add that I changed all five tyres to Kumho KL78 A/T's, 205/80/16.

What tyres do you have on your freelander

Kumho KL78. Size is 205/80/16. Also changed the spare wheel, think it had the original tyre on. Had to heat the lower bolt to get it off!

    Hi from Denmark

Thank you. Just to the north of Copenhagen, about an hour away. Used to live in Copenhagen for many years, so I know the city very well. But then again, it's not so big in a international perspective :)

    Hi from Denmark

Hello all. Just bought my dad's Freelander 1 from '99. It's a diesel, and still looks to be in pretty good shape. It has done 70.000 miles, so guess it's due for a new VCU, as far as I can tell from reading online. It's mostly going to be my daily driver, but hopefully with some mild off...
