    Still no brakes - ARRRRRGH!

Hasn't there been a previous thread stressing the fact that the caliper pistons must not be pressed back into the caliper unless the bleed nipple has been opened, as damage can be caused to the abs modulator ???
  10. J

    Help! Td4 no brakes!

Rave tells you to slacken the bleed nipple before pressing the piston back into the caliper when fitting new pads - so obviously not intended to force fluid "backwards" through system

Can I drive with broken rear diff mount?

Presumably it is the bush which has failed, rather than the casting itself. If this is the case, then could you source a polybush to replace the broken rubber one ??

    wheel nut problem

As a company delivery driver, I have to carry out checks on my van before the first run of the week - oil, coolant and washer bottle levels, all lights, tyre pressures, tread and damage check, wheel bolt torque. I have always carried out regular checks on my own vehicles in the same way

rear brakes stuck . I need advice before sunset please

You're going to take it out on public roads with a known brake fault ??
  16. J

    what mpg are you getting.

Got a 2001 TD4 manual - was getting 30 to 32 ish before fitting Renault 'stat in top hose (original 'stat failed open) . last tankful gave 37.17 mpg, and that was including 2 mile runs to work (so not getting up to full temp), and also a fast run to Conway from Stoke ( and back again later, of...

    please be gentle

What state is the bottom engine steady in ?
  18. J

TD4 poor heater and temp gauge not rising to normal

Probably did it the easy way and fitted the Renault 5 stat in the top hose !!
  19. J

    opinion needed ,please comment

The stat in roccotune's link is the correct one - still a tight fit !! Make sure you fit it with the bulb towards the engine, not the radiator .

    opinion needed ,please comment

Griff - even if U did unclip the hose, you would still have to cut the band in order to remove the part of the plastic clip which is still in the end of the hose - you can't get the 'stat in with it still in place. You can't really put the stat in the radiator end of the hose, it's too far from...
