Ive got the service record and the whole lot was replaced 14,000 miles ago and its had mostly light road use since then (10k with me). (Arm and clutch etc including push rod). Im working currently on the assumption that their is a) some air still in the system and leaving it to settle overnight...

My hope is that as its always been a low bite this indicates the wrong rod was used when rebuilding in 2015? If the pivot punched through what other symptoms could I look for? Wouldnt it simply punch through and not push back anymore?

And thanks to everyone on the reminder for earthing - found some badly coroded earths in engine compt on front of bulkhead and one near the wiper motor and cleaned them up, everything started working. Going to go through all the other earths I can find and give them the treatment.

I take the whole lot out and wire brush everything - bolt, body, and cable until its clean. The lights dont get brighter if I rev the engine and the engine starts fine, within a second - however if the lights are on it is sluggish and wont always catch.

And as you say it - the lights are a little bit dim for my liking, id say 70% of how bright they were originally - Im hoping this is a clue? If its an earthing issue, is their an area I need to start at and work back from - IE a main / most likely culprit? For earths, any I've come to so far...

sorry the they is the horn! I fixed it by cleaning terminals and snipping the end 3cm off the wire and putting a new end on it.

As the title says - I've got this problem, horn works when side lights are on, and all lights off, but put mains or full and its silent. Cant figure out how or why!

Ta - cut the wire and put new ends on and it has more oopmh and will try a whole new wire in the morning!

Thanks - so your saying its likely to be the wire not up to the task? Id rather keep it simple and avoid a relay as electrics are far from my strong point. Could it be anything else?

As it says - I can measure 12v at the earth and power wire to the horn, but when connected it produces a dull almost inaudiable noise and measures 6v, I've tried replacing the horn and have had no joy, What could be causing this? Their is power at the switch in the cab, and it reads 12v complete.
