i have a spare srs ecu if anyone needs one - i bought the coupler and ecu for £40 which is cheaper than the reset alone:D

My SRS light had been on for a few months so i pulled the fuse as i were sick of it glaring back at me. I had a fairly good idea that the fault lay in the rotary coupler so i sourced one on fleabay. Fitted yesterday and replaced the fuse - the srs light now goes out. So it's obviously self...

crack the nuts on top of the injectors and see if any fuel comes out during starting - if not chances are the Fuel Injection Pump is caput - its on the nearside of the engine driven by its own belt

I remove my rear prop a week ago - i usually use 6 gallons of fuel a week with the distances i do at weekends - filled up earlier and it only took 5 gallons so there's nearly a fiver saved each week:D

you didn't find one cos there ain't one - the Fuel Injection Pump is also the fuel pump - remove the aircleaner assembly and then the cover to see if the belt has snapped if not it's buggered - also check for a blocked filter

Injector pump IS also the fuel pump i.e it draws it from the tank via the filter and then feeds the injectors

check to see if the FIP belt has snapped - just replaced both my belts:)

all freelanders are OBD2 compliant however the generic code readers will only connect to the engine not the srs,abs etc for these you need specialist equipment such as Autologic or Faultmate MSV which are a tad more expensive ;)

what size is the fuse you used as motors can draw a lot of current especially if one of the mirrors folds first and the other is still moving:)

is this a hardback/softback?? if so check the switch in the rear offside behind the fog light as this will stop the window from working and switches off the rear wiper too - it's probably failed and thinks the back has been removed:)

using an iPhone here I don't think any quick release would take the torque while offroad. Could probably get this down to 15 mins if I could jack it up quick enough:D although if you don't mind sliding under it whilst on the floor then jacking is not needed but you will need to roll it a bit...

is the tyre ok?? i.e has the banding collapsed making it egg shaped - although it could be the CV joint:cool:
