I am after the engin cover for a td4 freelander if anyone has one anywhere

just to point out.. the oil filter is at the front of the engine between the engine and the radiator fans (by the dip stick) it is not a oil filter like on the old l types and thing but more of an element in a housing remove the engine plasic cover nad you will see a large plastic black...

that was going to be my next trick .. to change the oil. I was at andrew pages today to get a new air filter (the old one was black with filth) and when I get it in stock i'll get some auto oil to and do it on thursday. cheers

my 53 plate td4 auto is being weird... I think is this how it should be? if when travelling at about 30-50mph, if i try to accelerate the revs go up but the speed does not go up as fast If I were in a manual I would say that it feels like clutch slip but I have this auto at the moment A...

yes you can squash the rad hose the system is not under that much pressure

OK I GOT IS SORTED. Following on from this advice I have had a play and found that if I set the direction of the blowers to the windscreen then it engages the compresser to dry out the air and aid demisting. if it points to the feet or the vents in the dash it dis-engages the pump...

yeh probably that but there is always water coming out of the rubber drain at the back of the engin bay even when the AC has been off for days. what I am trying to find out is if the pump is compresser is always engaged when the heater fan is on, in other peoples TD4s of if it is just mine...

your cam belt first.. get it changed.. it is just good practice for the cost of a belt and a few hours to change it beats the cost of a new engine if/when it fails and if you change it it is going to be ok for 70k or so It is not a TD4 (i belive these have cam chains rather than cam belts...
