    had a quick look at fuse box and all looked ok but will double check it . im wondering now if its the fuel presure regulator ? do they just pack up or break down over a period of time ?

    it was the type of sound it would make if the door was open yes. not heard it before and not heard it since . i dont suppose theres anything that tells you the fuel filter is blocked or the pump is having trouble moving the fuel is there ?

    yes got a problem . the fuel pump has overnight got very noisey it just sounds as if it is sucking in air . so will this be the fuel pump or is there another cause ? carl .

    always had a series 2a in before but just been rebuilding it on a new coil sprung chassis so thought i would replace the gearbox with a newer item . got a discovery gearbox and a defender one think the disco will be too long in the bell housing though but was told you can swap the transfer boxes .
