had a quick look at fuse box and all looked ok but will double check it . im wondering now if its the fuel presure regulator ? do they just pack up or break down over a period of time ?

well todays problem is this , ive just done the headgasket on the td5 discovery . got it all finished and back together started it up and it ran like a dream , had a test ride and it sounded much quieter and ran smoother than before perfect i thought . the next day (monday) the gf used it all...

it was the type of sound it would make if the door was open yes. not heard it before and not heard it since . i dont suppose theres anything that tells you the fuel filter is blocked or the pump is having trouble moving the fuel is there ?

can anyone tell me if the discovery 2 td5 has any kind of warning bleepers on them ? i was driving it the other day and it started to make a noise but didnt notice any warning lights on . its a 1999 td5 by the way .. thanks carl .

just doing the headgasket on a discovery td5 and was wondering if one headgasket is better than another ? also i had to have head skimmed , before this it had the 2 hole gasket so which gasket would i be best using ~? the same 2 hole gasket or use the 3 hole to reduce the compression ...

well its not stolen ive owned it for years , the reason for changing the chassis was i was fed up of welding the old one up every year and wanted a softer ride too . (not that soft though) i also changed the gearbox because i thought a newer one would have more chance of coping with the v6 . so...

hello i wonder if anyone can give me some advice here . my problem is my suspension on my landrover is far too hard . the landrover is a series 2a on a designer coil sprung chassis , its a 88 inch wheelbase truck cab , its got a roll cage , it has a ford v6 engine and lt77 gearbox . the axles...

just a thought but does the fuel pump pressurise the fuel tank or just the fuel lines ? why is there 4 pipes ?

yes got a problem . the fuel pump has overnight got very noisey it just sounds as if it is sucking in air . so will this be the fuel pump or is there another cause ? carl .

always had a series 2a in before but just been rebuilding it on a new coil sprung chassis so thought i would replace the gearbox with a newer item . got a discovery gearbox and a defender one think the disco will be too long in the bell housing though but was told you can swap the transfer boxes .

my question is how much difference is there in the defender transfer box and the discovery one ? ive got a series 2a short wheelbase fitted with a 3ltr ford v6 so was thinking it might be better with a higher ratio transfer box fitted . ive always had the series gearbox in before but ther kept...
