I need to change the input shaft on my r380 from the longer shaft to the shorter one. The box was rebuilt about a year ago and has not been used so still nice and clean. Is it a really bad idea to have a go myself or should I find a co willing to tackle the job. Any idea if the torque bolt size...

According to my calcs I should have enough points - tax free springs & discs & defender chassis is stretching things too far - I wanted to keep it reasonably pukka just in case. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks very much for the advice - what would your thoughts be on the bolt on disc conversion as against various axle cut & shut ideas - still keeping the original leafs - re the points - would it not make any difference - if you change to discs then you have lost the axle points anyway - if I...

Just checking with those in the know - tdi engine and or five speed box and or disc brakes - I am trying to work out if I can change the engine/gearbox and put discs on the front and still be legit - the points system mentions axles & suspension but not brakes - I am keeping the leafs. I think...

    passenger side fuel tank

I am looking for a passenger under seat fuel tank - entirely separate from the drivers side tank - veg fuel project - planned on installing it's own fuel filler on the outside.
