Just repeating what the Rave manual says, it is possible to set the SRS pyrotecnics off with very low voltages, even the voltage from a multimeter can do it. There are some capacitors built into the system that are designed to fire the bags even if the battery becomes disconnected in the first...

Disconnect your battery & wait half an hour to disarm the SRS system before disconnecting the air bag in the steering wheel, it won't half hurt your ear drums if it goes bang !! Had a word with my mate who is breaking a 1.8, he wants £25 for it but it looks like you are fixed up, Best of...

Fitting a lift kit on freelander1

On the TD4 the fuel lines run along the top of the nearside "Chassis" box section right under the track rod ends at certain steering angles & full suspension travel they can be mashed flat by the track rod ends, there is enough slack in the lines to pull them down the inner side of the box...

    Manual vs. Auto

Got a TD4 Auto & a manual at the moment , both bulit Dec 2003, Auto has done 104,000 miles manual 68,000, both have been abused offroad, the manual is on its 3rd clutch & the Auto box hasn't cost me a penny (except for fluid) despite 2 heavilly overloaded trips offroading in the Pyrenees in the...

Would still get this done, the element is just a sponge type & can be cleaned with a bit of fairy liquid & hot water. Blockage of this filter can cause turbo damage...

    Question before I buy

If the oil is coming OUT of the split I would worry about it !!, there shouldn't be any thick gunky anything in those cable carriers, the one at the rear carries the harness for the fuel injectors if that harness is covered in oil it will need replacing, I would get the guy to take off the cover...
