I think I might have found the source of the rattle, when i was underneath to grease the props I noticed that the rear prop is made up wrong, instead of the yokes being inline, the are 90 degrees out, so I think someone has had it apart to repair it at some time:D I will tell you if it cures it...

Cheers, The hazards work fine, its just the bulb in the switch that don't flash and the switch looked like a sealed unit, but I could be wrong, anyway the new switch is the same. So that would point to an electrical fault in the wiring
