Gears aren’t feeling as smooth as they usually are since I’ve gotten the defender back.

So far so good until the grease disappears. They said if the noise comes back it could be the TRANSFER BOX???

I completely agree. I just tried a close by garage as I was concerned the noise was something very serious. Didn’t want to take a chance driving it far and my previous Landy mechanic hadn’t gotten back to me. Not having much luck so far so yes I might have to start figuring it out myself -...

Will do. No noise for a few days after the first go at that garage...which cost me approx £700 so if this still isn't fixed I don't know what to do.... I'm hoping it's all good. But I'll test drive it again with the mechanic (although no idea why they can't figure it out).

And "STRAIGHT 90" oil was topped up....

Apparently the prop was removed (again) "TO CHECK IF THE PROP SLIDES WERE SEIZED"

No they said they took it off to check then put it back again... I'm no mechanic, but I am concerned that they keep taking the damn thing off and putting it back each time.

I've just asked them (email) so awaiting response. Pick up the defender tomorrow so hoping it's all sorted!!!

Would lubing up the eye balls on the suspension sort out such a problem - I'm worried it's a temporary fix but will keep an 'eye' out ;)

UPDATE: I've just been informed this: "WE HAVE REMOVE FRONT PROP & LUB-BOTH FRONT EYE BALLS ON SUSPENTION LUB & TOP UP WITH OIL" uhm.... not sure what that means but hopefully thats sorted it all out.

I am, it’s booked in again this week but I’m just worried they don’t know what they’re doing (not that I either though!!) so any advice that would help them find and finally fix the fault always helps. They charged me a lot of money taking things apart and then replacing parts which I’m not sure...
