can anyone tell me how much engine oil it will take to get the dipstick on my 200 tdi from min to max ? im asking cos i live on a steep hill i dont check my oil very often but when i checked the other day in work on a flat car park it was on min so im gonna add the right amount outside my house...

i can see where he is coming from saying it was £9000 worth of damage to his disco because if he had to renew all the damaged parts and have it rejigged and labour in an approved repair center that s what it would probably cost . i had a peugeot 406 a few years ago , only worth about a grand and...

does anyone know how the pulley is held onto the power steering pump , is it on a key or a taper fit or is it just a very tight bolt ? thanks

i thought that but the power steering pump has a twin groove pulley that the belt for the alternator drives from so if the power steering pump was seized the pulley wouldnt turn so it wouldnt be able to drive the alternator :confused:

i went through a puddle on the side of the road today ( only about an inch deep ) in my 200 tdi and water splashed up and caused the battery light to come on and my power steering to stop working , this has happened a few times before and after a few seconds it all goes back to normal but this...

why would large tyres cause that ?

im going to service my 200 tdi soon and read that the manual gearbox uses ATF but i been told its best to use normal gearbox oil instead as its better for higher mileage gearboxes , im confused now so wots the best to use from your own experiences ? thanks

thats what i thought but i read it a while back on another thread on here so i thought its best to ask before i buy them cos i seen a few with 265/75/16 s on now and they look good :cool:

i know there is plenty of advice about wot size tyres will fit on my standard disco but i been offered a set of part worn 265/75/16 BF Goodrich all terrains and i know ill have to trim some body work to get them to fit but my question is that i have read a few threads on here about bigger tyres...

see if you can get hold of the spray bar from the wipers of a peugeot 405 from the scrappys cos they are mounted on the wipers and they just clip on and off and then its just a matter of routing the pips so it dont kink or jam when the bonnet is shut

my disco failed the mot today on worn bushes on the rear trailing arms ( the big round ones that are towards the front of the car ) . can anyone give me any tips on how to do them and are they easy ish to do thanks

i took the roof lining down on my 200 tdi a while back and it wasnt a difficult job . youy need to take the both overhead storage thingys down and all the grab handles off and then the surrounds of the alpine windows . i then pushed it up to free it from the door surrounds and pulled it out thro...

just an update and i dropped her off yesterday to get the floor and crossmembers done ( £125 delivered from paddocks , shame about the dubious quality of them :rolleyes: ) and she will be ready to pick up sometime tomoro . not that it makes any difference but he is mig welding it in and then...

while having a puncture repaired the other day i had a quick nose around underneath and spotted something on the axle( i circled them in red ) , with a pipe leading off up to the body somewhere . it had been cable tied on so i dont they are standard fit and there was also the same thing on the...
