    Turbo disaster

+1000 000 on this! Don't ruin your vacation. Have them come and get it. Like others said,......you could be half way through, when something breaks, and you need to run to get more parts,....etc. Once I rebuilt a motorcycle on the side of the road (about 100km South of Budapest, Hungary)...

Regarding this: I tried (FOUR TIMES) to measure resistance from the barrels to the solenoids (I was getting P1717 - low clutch solenoid fault on my OBD every time the F4 was flashing) with barrels disconnected, and got GOOD reading. Four times with barrels connected, measuring from the fuse box...

THIS put a big smile on my face this morning! Loved it. All true about Tratters too (and I still want one!). I like to have "personal relationship" with my cars, and Jeeps and Tratters need that.

ABSOLUTELY! Those too,......but they have nothing to do with OP washing/degreasing his engine. I'll put 20quid on the barrels themselves! EVERY electrical problem can have multiple causes, that's why I asked the other guy to provide "service history". Not "real" service history,....just what's...

I've never seen a Hippo with the stick (manual tranny), but I don't think that F4 CAN show up on the stick (because there is NO "limp mode" on the stick!). So,....it's the auto tranny, correct? Well,....tranny communicates with the ECU (and TCU!) via two cable bundles (looms). Those have BARREL...

From "Inglorious Basterds": "It's a BINGO!" And I do not have any interests in manufacturing, nor sales of the contact cleaner! Buy some. Pronto. F4 fault is tranny communication (barrels/fuse box). Not sure about the fuel sender, but spraying the crap out of it, and sticking it back for...

See my posts regarding F4. Basically it took 2-4 "washes" of barrel connectors, AND the fuse box with contact cleaner, and all good. Since you just took this thing out of your tank, and probably jiggled the connectors, I would venture to say,....no worries, it's NOT the solenoids (regardless...

That's VERY different from what's in my tank! Did you get the resistance readings?

What have you done to your Freelander today

To be honest, I stay AWAY from ANY American made vehicles! Chevy, Ford, Harley.......no difference. I have my ranch truck that was made by GM, and that's the only American thing I own. I owned Hummers, and Jeeps too, and I got tired of the issues. "Quality control" does not exist on these...

Where to find buy this nudge bar plastic thing ?

Thank you. The last link has a drawing of the bullbar I need. I'll contact them in the morning (they are sleeping now). It says in that link that the "picture does not guarantee availability", and no price.

I understand the faulty gauge bothers you. I do. I am so OCD, it would drive me NUTS. But I wasn't OCD my whole life (I blame military!). I started driving in the times when fuel gauges were sooo notoriously inacurate, that nobody paid any atention to them. But odometers worked fine! Even...

CRAP! That's the exact bull bar (except in black) that wife wants! I need this info too. Sorry OP.

BEFORE you take the next step, you need to check IF the sending unit IS the culprit. You've got the ohm readings in this post,...use them. After that check the breakers, the dealer should be the last resort. I had a similar issue with the bike (needed the pump too), and the local CA dealer...

You guys know what FORD stands for in the States? Two (similar) versions: Fix Or Repair Daily, or......Found On Road Dead. ;)

Well,.....it's close enough. Now you know what to look for, with your specific VIN. Try the dealers first (to get the "feel" for the price), than aftermarket, Ebay, breakers, etc. In many cases, these things just need a good cleaning. I just went through the same thing with one of my bikes (BMW...
