Where can I get information on operating Hawkeye. I do not like the idea of teaching myself. I think I am only scratching the surface when using it.

What can one read into the fact that the readings are so wayward(peaking at -17 for a portion of a second) when idling and within more acceptable limits(+0 to +2, -0 to -3) when the engine is at about 2000rpm under normal load?

I did not check the bump clearances. I expected that the person who did the engine up would have seen to that. The loom was apparently replaced about 26 000km ago. There is oil on the plug just under the harness plug. My next guess is that the harness is faulty.

Discovery 2 TD5 2002. This weekend I removed the injector cover and checked the codes on the injectors(green). I found that on one injector the last 2 letters were swapped around. Another confusing thing was that there were not 5 letters stored on the ECU but only 4(Hawkeye). This was the case...

2002 Disco TD5 Manual. I am still fiddling to sort out power issues, but I get 10.5km/l on average. I have done about 8 000km since buying it. Speedo now on 195 000.

I retapped mine to 8mm and I am very happy with result. Take care that no filings fall into housing.

Some fool overtightened mine and stripped it. I had to retap to a 8mm.

I am not familiar with the model you are asking about(South Africa). My advice is that you will either love a Defender or hate it. I had a 1998 Defender 110 Tdi Hardtop, maintained it myself and put 356 000km on it. Sold it and had a Toyota 3l KZ-TE double cab. Missed the Defender in a big way...
