Diff oil on rear wheel - what should I plan on doing?

I paid for express shipping (£10) and got a new wheel brace too (mine bends when undoing the wheels so not worth risking snappage for £5!) and the whole lot came to £37 with VAT.

Diff oil on rear wheel - what should I plan on doing?

Getting them from paddocks, they have normally been good when I order from them. The swivels are on the front but I guess the part number/description is the same for the rear stub axel gasket seals on front and back. That part was from the Rear Axel section...plus for 20p if it's wrong I can...

Diff oil on rear wheel - what should I plan on doing?

Morning, found out that the whine from my rear diff was probably due to lack of oil. Now I've filled her up, I noticed a load of oil leaking out the half shaft seals on the NSR wheel. Am I right in assuming that it's: a) Probably the wheel bearing (replace bearing, halfshaft/spline gasket...

I've used FBB before and they were pretty good. My old man used them loads too. Haven't been there for ages so not sure how their reputation is now. Google Maps

    Dead cat hiding in exhaust

It's not only curiosity that killed the cat then! Was it a 9-blade fan? Else it wouldn't have taken all 9 lives in the first rotation....!

    Dead cat hiding in exhaust

that's a bit messy isn't it?! Got a good one for you here, and it's true. When my mate was training to be a mechanic, he got a job at a garage to do his apprenticeship. A newish Audi came in to be looked at as it was making some weird noises and the power steering felt "off" to the lady...

Front electric window - going down too far

I've got same issue, not bothered fixing it yet but I found a quick roadside repair is to let the window mechanism wind down a bit, pull the rubber stripping from both sides of door top, pull the glass to the top of window frame with a pair of pliers if you can't quite reach it, then wind the...

    Rear diff whine maybe?

Away from the flying chunks of metal would be my guess! Well I checked rear diff oil and it was practically empty....weird as there is no leak?! Still, I've stuck a litre and a bit in of EP80-90 GL4 (all I had lying around) and it's quietened down a bit. Still a bit of a whirr. Drove it...

    Rear diff whine maybe?

Got a weird noise coming from my disco. At first I thought it was tyre noise but I've not changed them and it never did it before. Sounds like it could be the rear diff but I'm not sure. It does sound like tyre noise, it's got a rumbly whiny quality that increases with road speed. Firstly, is...

How do I fix a droopy bonnett blanket?

yeah it cuts down on noise and prevents heat damage to the paint finish on the hood lid (I would imagine this wouldn't ever be an issue!) I think that's all it's for.

How do I fix a droopy bonnett blanket?

Ay, rip it off. One could argue that not having it can help lower engine temperature but with the size of the bonnet on Landies, doubt it'd make that much difference!
