Yes please :D I would love to have a go at fitting that in my disco. Although it hasn't got hot running round in this heat without a fan, it would be nice to have a fan that only runs when I want, and not when it's cold or when I'm in a river ;) Also, at the moment I'm using the air...

I have a sticker on my 300TDI that says that grease has been used on 'this side of the vehicle' But there's no sticker on the other side. Would they only do one side?? Weird!!

Fitted power steering pump - at last. Now trying to decide whether to bother refitting the viscous fan!!!???!!!

Finally got mine all back together tonight, and only a few bits left over :eek: Just need to check the drips are 'spillage' and not a leak and I'll be happy. Now, should I bother putting this viscous fan back on?

I'm probably going to Machine Mart to buy some new sockets which will hopefully undo the now infamous last bolt...........maybe I'll get some tube from there as well :) I still plan to fit rock sliders/tree sliders as well - but that rather depends on getting the Disco running again in time.

Trying to change the power steering pump. One of the bolts holding the bracket on is ridiculously tight. First attempts with socket (the sort with many points) slipped and rounded the corners a little. Next attempts with a different socket (the sort with hexagon shape - only fits one way)...

I'm sure I don't and no comparison intended - other than I'm cursing mine at the moment. It has spider's webs from the underneath to the driveway while I'm catching the bus to work :( Just because of one bolt that won't undo :(

Well, managed to get the old pump off without removing the bracket. A bit a jiggling and it just fitted through the gap - yippee!!!!! Can't get the new one in the same way though. The new one has a pointless extra bit that just stops it sliding in - literally only about 1mm too big...

Got the steering pump off mine, but can't get the new on in. My fault for cheating.......now trying again to get the last bolt out :(

I think it was 'user error' and we were laughing for hours :D I think the best thing it cooked was a torch :eek: Paul.D will not live it down for many years :D

And that's before you hear the stories about the BBQ :eek::eek::eek:

Well, nearly succeeded!! Got the fan off and out, but couldn't get they fan cowl (?) out of the way as the radiator top hose is blocking it in - some much for "under the clips and lift out" Haynes instructions :( Then moved to the pump, but socket slipped on last bolt and slightly rounded...
