Went to fit new ABS accumulator but the old one won't budge! Should they "just" unscrew or need a strap wrench of some sort?

Ordered an Abs accumulator. I wonder is island 4x4 wonder why such a sudden rush!

New leads fitted - a bit of a PITA job for something that should be 'simple' but car is running lovely.

Well the fault hasn't returned so the battery replacement must have sorted it. Cheers guys.

Thanks. The fault seems to have stopped now! I'll see if it returns before replacing the ECU. The later ones are a bit pricey!

With engine running and measurement taken across the battery terminals 14.41.

OK a bit more info....I connected the nanocom and went for a drive. The aim was to monitor the wheel sensors to make sure they were all recording about the same. Trouble is as soon as I start to move nanocom displays "unable to perform function" and once its done this I can no longer establish...

Sounds like the problem I had. It turned out to be the sensor by the clock. The fan has failed so I think the temp on the sensor increased behind the dash and so the cold air would blow! I changed for a second hand unit and all is now well! You could try shining a torch through and see if...

Just read the nanocom manual for GEMs and doesn't seem to have the same options for misfire detection

I have the Thor motronic. For me just went to the motronic menu then roughness option. I'll see if I can get screen shots.

OK some good news! It looks like the lead to cylinder 6 is knackered! I went to connect it to the spare plug to look for spark and the internals of the cap stayed on the plug in the engine!. I managed to get the lead back together temporary and the missfire has gone. New leads on order...
