    sounds stupid

The best option would be to have one made that is out of the way. Maybe from a round tube that sits higher up the front maybe on the same line as the grill and light trim.

    spinning metal noise

Altinator belt slipping? Or Power steering belt? Mine makes a metalic sound rather than a swqueel at the moment! Think it may be the pully wheel vibrating as it slips.

Best way to preserve the life of a defender?

To be fair tho.... Look at how many there are with early reg's or ever Suffix plates. That has to be a testiment to there ruggedness? Compare that to the lifespan of the average car that was produced last year! I bet most of us will still be grunting under our Landies when most of last years...

    could do without it

Slap on some Nitromoors and sit back and watch the TV! It will take all the bad paint and all the good paint off! Works better in warmer weather tho!

    my partition, what ye think??

Not just that I try to keep under the radar of the local TWOCKERS! and spinning by with 3k watts pumping out Britney Spears aint going to keep the car on my drive too long!

    my partition, what ye think??

Been there and done that.... Had 2 x 1000w Subs in my kit car with 4x500w mids and some tweeters... Was loud as hell lucky for me it was fiberglass as there would be little rust holding it together if not. Got a CD player in my 300tdi Disco which gets used once a blue moon, Not sure what is...

Diff lock help really needed please.

Also is it manual or auto? I took the dash out of my auto and it isnt as hard or daunting as it seems when you read the haynes or other threads. It took me less than half a day. Only to find there is a good chance the problem is internal to the TX Box so would have to take it out to fix, unless...

Diff lock help really needed please.

The idea is to only have one wheel off the ground. If not the system is open and wont tell you anything. Jack one wheel up (Any/ the easiest!) check the other 3 are on the ground and not able to turn by hand. Then try turn the jacked wheel one revolution either way, if it turn the diff isn't...

My first proper Land Rover (my Disco doesnt count)

Just wondering do you "do project work" for a living or hobby? I get the feeling from the thread and title that this one is to be your toy. Is there anyone on here that plays with Land Rovers, either re shelling them, restoring them, exop fitting them, exporting them? I would love to...

    how much for this??

Lol You tight git! All mine were new ones! And the postage is reasonable for them all. To spend 70 putting a hoop light bar on it you may as well go all out and spend another 100 to change the whole bumper! After all the time taken to bugger about with the bolts and fitting is the bit that...

Fitting rear forward facing seats to a 90

I found them on another site, the last one very tidy job I would be happy if mine looks half as good! I am torn as to which way to face them! I haven't looked at cages yet, quite like them internal, but then think external may save some damage to the pannels! I will probably just get a...

fitting forward facing seats into a 300tdi

I bought a full set for a Td5 by mistake! They are totally diffrent! I am not saying that it is impossable just that to do it would be a massive job and require you to have a lot of parts from the donor car. Are you wanting them to be spring loaded so they can be folded up? Or are they to...
