    Zip Line

Hmm, interesting reading but not much help. It never mentions on the zip line site what the max strain on the rope is. However they do say that most lift/pull cables have a nylon core to give some bounce rather than a jerk, so maybe this solid core is not good. I haven't even got a winch to put...

    Zip Line

I work in a magical land, where people give me weird and wonderful items all day long. Today I was given a full size zip line. Its not a kids one, the wire is half inch thick, and its about 100 foot long. So naturally I couldn't let it go to waste.... Does any one know anything about zip lines...

My discos first sight of mud

the point is that some of us don't get a chance or the opportunity to go off road as much as we would like. I can sympathise with the OP as the other day I got to drive down a farmers drive that was muddy and quite brutal. I had a whale of a time, really enjoyed it, but for those of you who go...

    Part sourcing

Yeah agreed. Just bought that one in the end! Just being a tight git again! :)

    Part sourcing

Yikes! Maybe I'll just buy my one! :) but seriously, I don't need genuine, cheap and cheerful will do.

    Part sourcing

Can any one tell me what an alternative part number or name is to this hose, I'm sure I can get it cheaper some where but I don't know what to call it, and the part number on this advert doesn't find much. Cheers for any info!

    Just found this on AOL

Just to point out, that report is from the well know font of knowledge and top level journalism that is the Daily Star...so we know it must be fully supported by factual documentation and not some bloke in a pub saying something to his mate. Good. I like it when I can believe what I'm reading...

    How to avoid Britpart?

Ah I see, so Britpart aren't the always to blame. Ok good to know. And the G after the number is brilliant. Will use that trick again! As usual, James, you're a fount of knowledge! Cheers!

    How to avoid Britpart?

Ok, cheers James, found one on ebay with that part number. Its twice the price of the others so I hope its twice as good! :) Is that a specifically non britpart number? How do you spot the britpart rubbish before you buy?

    How to avoid Britpart?

I'm after a new water pump as mine has started squeaking, and I want to get a new one in before it snaps my aux belt. But I want to avoid Britpart, as I hear nothing but horror stories. But how do I tell? I was hoping to get one off ebay, but no one admits to selling britpart openly, so is there...

    Thermostat housing

The brass plugs of rads work really well as they have bleed screws on them so no need to undo the whole plug to bleed the system. And I believe the block bleed bung is just under the exhaust manifold toward the front of the engine. It is quite visible when you know where to look.

    Headlining

I really want to do this to mine, but on looking at the headlining, it looks like mine is made from compressed felt? Is there more than one type of lining out there, ore is the fiber glass just hiding out of view? Anyone know?

    sata hardrive qs

Can the system be linked to a network at all? If it does, you could just sync the drives with one at home, then that would keep them both current, and not require you to remove the drives every 5 min.

    sata hardrive qs

I wouldn't worry too much about brand, they're all much of much. I see hundreds every day, and over the life of a drive, its just not enough in it to say "this is the best one" etc. Your best bet is strength in numbers. Back up on to an array of drives, and if one goes, your covered. Also keep...

    Transit wheels

The tires guys told my other half her tires were off a transit (or van in general). Not fussed as she just drives on road anyway, but got me wondering. Do Transit wheels fit a disco mk1? Was looking today, and they look about the right size. Anyone know?
