In the end i endend up taking it all out again and did another rebuild on it. Ensuring that everything was at the right spec. Eh presto it worked!

So i have fitted the new selector fork and realligned the rods and it still jumps out of gear :(

If I set the new fork and it works Honolulujoe i will be happy :) The springs are right, it's got a new reverse idler in, the castleated nut is tightened properly. If that doesn't resolve it il be clutching at straws and have to have another rethink

I will set the forks again when i get the new reverse selector forks then and see if that sorts it.

Inspected the box tonight. Looks like I may have found the culprit. The reverse selector fork is worn

Checked the springs they were wrong. Swapped them around but the problem still persists

My mate has recently done a rebuild on the gearbox and would have replaced any worn parts. The reverse was fine before the rebuild if that makes any difference?

Hi, When i put my series 3 into reverse it works for a little and then jumps out of gear, then i have to put it back in gear and it happens again. Does anyone know the reason for this and how to fix it? Thanks

To update I put the floor and etc back in and it sounds a lot better now

Both are full of oil. It's defiantly not as bad as it used to be. Maybe it's just how it's supposed to sound when the gears turn in the box. Only run it so far without the seat box and floor in

No bangs or grinding. Just like a bearing sound. Could it just be the new bearings and cogs bedding in?

When cold and stood the oil level shown on the dipstick is quite low. But when the engines been run for a few minutes the oil level shown on the dipstick is very high. This has me confused as to which level is correct and why it's doing it? S3 2&1/4 petrol
