PSI makes a world of difference. Simple as that.

Clips were not required on my 2001 model, thery were rust free. Do a visual check to see their condition. I went with Dunlops all round. They do the job well enough.

My figures are wihout towing, if your lugging a caravan around, then thats where your extra fuel is going.

I had thought that the turbo could be where some oil is getting through too. But the engine sounds and performes so sweet, its just not worth messing about with. For the sake of adding a little oil between changes, I will leave it and hope its just in the normal usage limits, which it is...

Computer was reset over 1400 miles ago after fitting PSI - MPG has been on 30.4 for some time now. Before it was fitted, it was on 27.7

Anway, I think the best thing i can do is to change the oil more frequently than the 6000 I was planning while using the PSI.

Just because it has made no difference on your engine does not mean it has not affected mine. I will not be removing it to see if it is at fault, as the car is a far to flat without it.

Do some proper research on oil consumption before you splutter our more sarcastic verbal diarrhea. YOU PRAT.

I did not do an exact test on this, but I kept an eye on it before I put my PSI Powerbox on and I swear it was barely dropping at all, or certainly much less. After putting Powerbox on, it has seemed to drop more. But like I say, I did not do a proper test.

Im not sure its about wearing prematurley, but rather the build quality can vary. I've even heard people say newer engines can use a little more oil until they get some miles on them, but Im no expert. If some parts are not perfect tolerence, oil can get past and be burnt. I did a new check...

That's simply not true, as I said I do not have the official figure from BMW for oil consumption on the M51 per 1000 miles but 1 litre is often quoted on other engines, even though that sounds very high. I'm currently using 300ml per 1000 miles. I'm using semi synth 10 40 which I believe...

Some poeple just love drama. According to my oil loss, thats 1.8L per 6000 miles. I said I have a weep on the oil pipes too, which could account for a fair bit. All of a sudden I need to be pulling pipes apart and checking to see if my turbo bearings are wasted!! I do not have RAVE on this...

Both mine are weeping, but surley thats not using this much oil. There does not seem to be much evidence that its losing that much oil from there on mine.

I know these engine do use oil, but was wondering what you had found you had to top up by. I estimate mine uses 300ml oil per 1000 miles. When I do an oil change, I buy 10L of oil and after topping up over almost 6000miles its all been used and ready for another service.

I found that text too, as my car does this. Just got 4 Duracell batteries from ebay. Will be fitting them today and will post the results in a week to se if any change has occured. I never bought the buttons as they are in very good condition.
