HI all I have a squeak coming from the front passenger side.It only happens when going over small bumps but doesnt happen on sharp impacts ie deep potholes. I've changed the track rod ends and arb droplinks. The suspension itself seems fine with no sign of dmage and peoper movement and...

Hi all following on from a previous thread im changing the flywheel having just put in a new clutch and release bearing. I was told that i can fit a solid flywheel as opposed to a dual mass one? What are peoples opinions? Also was told that seeing as its a new clutch its a sprung one so can...

No just pretty continuous.its back with the mechanic now so we'll see

ya think i will have to.drove to work and its fine when accelerating but as soon as you start to slow down it grinds like hell

the bearing that came out was fairly knackered and he thinks the flywheel did tht damage

right did not do that.just got the whole new bearing kit and had that and the clutch changed

aftermarket.if it was the flywheel wouldnt it have grinded like hell before the new clutch and bearing were fitted

bit better.still bad goin into first from standing.no noise there before the bearing went

Right plot thickens.only happens when everything has heated up.first ten miles fine.then a slight whine that gets louder to the grind

That was my thought too.he said there was a bit more than normal play but not a lot more

Ya i trust him.bin goin to him for a while now.he does think its the fly wheel but its 300 to fit it too so not cheap

Right cos the mechanic said flywheel.it was noise free for the first few miles and then came the grinding.what would cause the grinding if its air?

Was told there was a little bit of play on it.so time to worry then.fly wheels are crazy price aren't they

OOh ya its pretty continuous in or out of gear unless accelerating

Right got it back and have done 80 miles.im gettin a load grinding noise now as if tryin to put into gear without a clutch.did ye have that too or am i screwed

thing is if everything was fine before the bearing went shoudlnt it all be ok now too?

ya i asked the guy who fitted it and he used a pressure bleed kit yesterday and was still the same so i told him rather than whipping it all out again and costing another shed load id give it a week and see.He thought it might be the dual flywheel that needed to be changed ?
