some 1 must be able to help me do i just need to get the old screws out put a new gasket on or what is there a reason why the bolts have snapped?

just noticed befor that the bolts have snapped ive pulled the shaft out and it looks ok an all the spindle on the end is ok but im new to all this lanny stuff so dont know what damage has been done, will the bits of bolts that are snapped in the thread drill out ? any advice would be appreciated...

also sometimes when i go fron neutral to first or reverse there is a clunking noise but its not all the time what do u think that is, is it my prop shaft ? im new to all this lanny stuff so i will be asking lots of questions thanks paul.
