I've done virtually the same & Mine ran those figures for 4 years plus I had the alive over boost module fitted with out batting an eyelid. Done 60k over them 4 years pulling trailers 50% of the time too. Chassis gave up before the engine. Not for much longer though. Can't wait to get back...

I know it's a mine field isn't it. I don't want to spend all the time and hassle of rebuilding it whilst it's out on the bench only 6 months later have things start failing. Good luck with the rest of your build. I'll be watching closely.

Finally got a spare day so done a bit today. Cut the old chassis today to get the fuel tank out as someone has welded up the cradle bolts. Pulled out the rear wiring loom through the chassis. Removed the exhaust Removed the power steering res, looked at removing the steering rods but just...

Nothing wrong with it mate, but it's out and sat on an engine stand so it makes sense to rebuild it before it goes back in. I'll have a read of your thread today.

Wikid engine rebuild mate. I'm in to a rebuild at the moment and I'm in two minds whether to rebuild the engine and looking at yours it seems the way to go as it looks the nuts. Keep the updates coming, I'll be following ;)

I've been driving big excavators for years now and I'll always let them idle for about 5 mins before I shut it down for the day to let the oil get round the turbo. It's in all the manuals you get with the machine too to do that. So can't be a bad thing to do. :)

It won't fit as I think you will find the fuel filler is at the back on the TD5/TDCi and at the front of the 200 tub. Unless you plan of moving the fuel tank.
