    Discovery 300tdi Aerial

    * Newb question alert* It's been a little while now and a few 'as to be expected' jobs later and I'm still loving my first Disco. I snapped the original aerial about a week after getting it and I'm now getting rather ****ed without having a radio. Could someone please send me a link to a...

    Battery Advice

I've actually just been looking on the Tayna website. So the 072 is the best size for my Landy then - that helps thanks. Just found the below with 1000 marine CCA. Am I right in thinking that marine CCA appear more than they are? I've seen somewhere online saying that 1000 marine CCA is...

    Battery Advice

Tell me to jog on if this is cheeky but... Does anyone know the maximum size or the size of a Disco 1 battery tray by any chance? Save me waiting until I'm home to measure it - as I'd quite like to order it whilst I'm at work. Many thanks!

    Battery Advice

To give them their due, I have heard Halfords are really good at replacing faulty batteries and tools etc. I may have to see what the biggest battery I can get from Halfords is, and see if my Dad can get me some juicy discount.

    Battery Advice

Thanks all, that's great. I had a look on Halfrauds and for £98 I can get a calcium battery that only has 510 CCA, which like you say is obviously the bare minimum she will need to crank round I guess? So the HB072, is that the physical size? I guess it's probably best I measure my battery...

    Battery Advice

Hi all, I've searched the forum, and to my surprise I haven't come across a thread that's particularly helpful at pointing a finger at a battery to buy for a Discovery 1. I've got an N Reg 2.5 diesel, and the battery I currently have is very small and seems to be nearing the end of it's life...

    Land Rover Discovery Disc Replacement

Hi Brian, Many thanks - your thoughts mirrored mine. Was planning on checking the fronts tonight. Would you agree that it's a good idea to replace the fronts with drilled and grooved perhaps? Many thanks, Jack.

    Land Rover Discovery Disc Replacement

Hi all, I've been running over a few things on my D1, trying to get it as up together as possible. When replacing the rear wheel bearings it has come quite apparent that she is in dire need of some new rear discs. My question - Are drilled and grooved discs really worth the extra £20ish? I've...

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

Vincemcdonald, Sounds like a rather similar setup to mine then. Although my springs were 2" higher than the standard ones rather than the blocks. Now this may be a newby question but... I haven't spaced my ARB mounts. Is this bad and is it something I should do? At the moment it's looking...

I have of course now also painted the welded area in hammerite.

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

Hi all, all points noted and agreed. I appreciate you all explaining the downfalls of lifting a truck, and this is all noted. Maybe my answer came across showing a disregard for your comments, but I was merely trying to question it all to get a better understanding. Now I do, and I wished I'd...

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

Northend, I've made a few other posts and always had very friendly and helpful replies. Unfortunately the internet is open to everyone and it would appear that some people get satisfaction out of being the 'know it all' and making everyone else look stupid. Yes I'm a novice, hence why I've...

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

That is very true! The cottage has been in our family for 60+ years, and it doesn't have electricity or running water let alone a need for the postie to make it down in a van! It's propa' out in the country you see.

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

I may have to do this Disco1BFG..! It's quite a long track that's quite far from the nearest concrete road - but it may be worthwhile. For now however, I may just continue to prepare my Disco for as much as possible. After all, is that not what it's all about?

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

All points noted, and understood as they were before I raised it. The tail of my vehicle hits quite a bit, and the diffs are rather low when plodding through some very deep ruts I have to drive when visiting my cottage. Therefore I wanted to raise the body, and the tyre size, to give a little...

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

I am raising it as I own a cottage in the middle of nowhere in Exmoor, and with he current setup, it's a tad lower than I'd like at a few points. Grip is my main issue on the tyres I am running, and to run the meaty tyres I have bought - I simply wouldn't have enough room on the standard setup...

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

Thanks MrIFan, hopefully now that she's raised up I will have enough clearance on the arch to run the slightly higher profile. As for your rather kind reply 300bhp/ton... yes I know what offset is, and besides lift block/spacers, how else do you lift a Disco? The shocks I have fitted are...

What wheels? 2" lift and big profile tyres...

Hi all, I finally got round to fitting some 2" lift shocks, and have purchased some rather meaty 235/85/R16 tyres. They've come off a Range Rover and are currently on a set of steel wheels. The seller thinks they will rub quite a lot. My question is... what offset wheels would be best with...
