    Battery Draining

If all else fails, fit a gubbins called a "Discarnect" from Rimmer Bros, about £10. It fits onto the negative post on your battery. Once fitted, when leaving your motor for longer than just a quick bit of shopping, pop the bonnet and unscrew the black knob on top of the Discarnect. This isolates...

    Range Rover Autobiography

Oh, yes, it works fine mechanically. All the basics are there, engine, gearbox, brakes, sweet as a nut. Suspension goes up and down as it should, and car looks a treat. Air con a bit iffy. LPG no probs at all. Radio splendid tone and looks a treat. Just some doubt as to whether it is an...

    Range Rover Autobiography

My 99 T reg has the plaque on the door shuts on both passenger and drivers door which says "Land Rover - 1948 1998, Vogue 50, 73". Under the bonnet, a plaque with "Land Rover Special Vehicles, Lode Lane (etc)", the Paint Code is blank, it doesn't say Autobography anywhere on that plate. Inside...

    P38 - air to coils?

Jeeze, what a can of worms I opened there!!!!! Seems to me to be down to personal preference, changing to coils appears to be very much suck it and see. As for comparing the ride on your P38 to a Transit, blimey, I would hope the P38 is better than a tranny. Bottom line:- For sale, one...

    P38 - air to coils?

I DON'T KNOW, THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING ANYONE WHO HAS ACTUALLY DONE IT FOR THEIR VIEWS!!!!!!!! I know the difference between a Mercedes 6.3 AMG on air and a non-AMG Mercedes 6.3 on coils arguably, the coil ride is better overall, but the AMG wins out in other ways.

    P38 - air to coils?

I'm not complaining about wallowy ride, I'm just sick of being thrown about by every little ripple in the road. I've had new shocks, new bushes, new steering damper, marginal improvement. An ancient RR Classic I drove rode far better than my P38, hence the question re coils. Thanks.

    P38 - air to coils?

Thanks, guys, for the suggestions. Tyres:- It's on Cooper Zeon XTS 255/55R18. I'll try 36 in the rears, but they already looks soft at 38! Shocks are new, but I'll get ball joints etc checked. The swap to coils still seems a bit iffy, plus, as you say, I'll lose the ride height adjustment...

    P38 - air to coils?

Can anyone who has converted a P38 from air to coils give me a fair opinion of the result? Many throw their arms up in the air and shout foul, but have they done it? My P38 has had new radius arm bushes, front shocks and steering damper, but it still leaps all over the road and the ride is...

    Wandering P38

Re my wandering P38. Had it checked out at a Landy friendly workshop - itwas the radius arm bushes, front bush on both sides well and truly Kn....ed, both sides rears not quite so bad - but beyond sell by date! Thanks to all respondees.

    Wandering P38

Started gradually, so your idea seems sensible, along with David Cooper and Datatek. As regards storm99's answer - Toss Pot.

    Wandering P38

My P38 has started wandering at the slightest bump in the road. It has had new steering damper and front shocks - anyone got any other ideas?

Maybe an answer for all the queations about LPG

20-30% less efficient is wildly pessimistic. Someone has already said your engine oil stays cleaner, so will your oil filter, also, no acid in LPG, therefore your exhaust system will last longer, too. I've just done a 200 mile round trip in my LPG 4.6ltr, about half on motorway (M11), topped up...

    P38 Needed For TV Appearance

1999 T reg Vogue 50 Autobiography. Looks good and mainly OK, trouble with sat nav and cd changer. Where would I have to take it? I'm in Cambridgeshire. PS Ignore the "junior member" tag under my landyzone name - I'm a 69 year old junior!

    LRO anti P38?

Before I bought my P38 I checked a whole load of back copies of LRO - not a peep on P38's but loads and loads and..... on defenders and 200/300tdis. Someone said Land Rover Monthly hard to find. Look in an Autoexpress at W H Smiths library, check out their subscription address and buy Land Rover...

    200tdi

Hi. Hoping for a heads up on a prob with 200tdi (disco engine), now in my Rangey. Coolant is pressurising on start up, no heating, runs fine, bit lumpy to begin with but settles and revs freely with no mis-fire. Oil clear of any milky signs, both at cap and on dip stick. Immediate thoughts were...
