    Freelander 1 Sold my manual 2004.. should I buy a 2001 auto?

Hi all. I've sold my lovely manual 2004 td4. Got a good offer for it... Wanted to buy another facelift FL1, I really like the brilliant lights. But I've seen nearly a very tidy 2001 ES Automatic td4. Nice colour, good condition, had it's VCU replaced, etc. And it's half the price of a...

Freelander 1 Does it matter too much about specs??

I'd noticed the 2006 models deleted the heated screen as standard on se and hse.

Freelander 1 Does it matter too much about specs??

Oh and I changed my A4 3.0tdi quattro for the freelander. Loved my audi but the freelander more. A lot less rapid but easier to hustle along

Freelander 1 Automatics: as good in the snow and what to look out for

I test drove that automatic. Low mileage, full service history. Engine keen, no problems on kickdown or accelerating or starting etc. Didn't have a rear cigarette lighter (thought all HSEs did), and everything works on it. Tried reversing with wheel full lock and slipping it into neutral -...

Freelander 1 Automatics: as good in the snow and what to look out for

Hiya, I might have the chance of changing my Freelander for an automatic td4. Are they as good in the snow as manuals? If I were test driving one, what should I look out for and anything I should try out eg kickdown, I've seen quite a few posts about failed gearboxes so am wary! Thx :)

Freelander 1 Quoted £350 to do the brake hoses

Seems pricey, it needs 5 and "2 are quite long" Think I should be looking elsewhere or is this reasonable? Thx

Freelander 1 Rear speakers not working, could it be the amplifier?

Hi all The rear speakers aren't working, rather only the front "tweeters" seem to work and the bigger speakers in the front door don't work either. So I wondered if it might be the amplifier. Does it have it's own fuse? I can't see a fuse for it listed in the handbook. Could it be dead...

My new Freelander (issues and questions!)

Wheels balanced :) wobble gone. Drives very smoothly now. Clunk on steering direction change due to worn drop link but not bad.

Freelander 1 How easy and smooth should it be to engage gears

I'll have a go with the getting the oil changed this weekend... My freelander has done 79k. I really like it but if it's going to be disastrous will sell cheap it and try another!
