    sorry i meant it wont disengage, the bearing and plates are all fine just the pivot ball through fork. besides i will be taking the engine out of the disco in september to put in my defender hopefully.

    i have now replaced my release fork as well as the slave cylinder, i have pressure in my peddal now but still the clutch will not engage!!! could this be that i haven't blead it properly??? paul

    i've just got my gear box back together for the second time today. i put mine back dry both times. i dont beleave there is any need to use any sealer, and in answer to your question, it is correct you only need to pull the gear box back no further than in that article on the link posted.

    i like the idea of the ratchet strap as a hoist, dit you link the hooks together, or use the roof guttering?? i would imagine the roof gutter would damage?

    on mu 300 tdi the wading plug would go directly center of the bell housing on the engine side under where the clutch plates sit. paul
