What make of lpg kit to fit?

Whatever manufacturer you fit make sure that the software is available and that they explain how to tweak the mixture. Software and leads cost in the region of £35 but you save that by being able to tune the system yourself to your own requirements.

1994 RRC ABS Light Staying On

Hi Folks, MOT is due on Saturday and the ABS light is stuck on, normally this goes out within a few secs of driving off but has in the past stayed on for a while on several occasions. Just had Rover in the garage for a pre-mot check and had some work carried out, track rod ends, drag links and...

    Free Lpg Tuning

Hi Folks, Had a few enquiries from people who live too far away, or fancy having a go themselves. Basically they've bought or want to buy the software, and want to know how to use it etc. Below is a link to a fairly decent explanation on tuning which might help. System Setup 2 - tuning a...

    Disconnecting Front Propshaft - Economy?

Thanks for the quick reply. Oh poo!!, is it a big/expensive job to replace the VC?. I'm fairly handy with the old spanners, but new to RR. Cheers Wookie

    Disconnecting Front Propshaft - Economy?

Would disconnecting the front propshaft improve fuel economy, and could it cause damage to other components. Got a problem when turning on full lock which may be due to the transfer box?, difficult to describe but it feels like something is out of line, juddering, this continues for maybe 30yds...

    LPG Conversion, any thoughts ??

I'd no idea what a decent RR would do on petrol, can't test mine at the moment. Actually works out at about 15-16mpg on lpg which is about right for short journeys. 5 years ago lpg was 50p, petrol 99p which is why I converted my camper, the ratio isn't quite as good now but it's still a hell...

    LPG Conversion, any thoughts ??

Don't know what the best mpg you can get on petrol is, but I'm getting the equivalent of 29mpg on lpg. Got a problem on the petrol side with the fuel pressure regulator so can't do a performance/economy comparison but there's enough performance for me on lpg. I'm not towing though, it's just...

    Rough Running On Cylinder 3.......

What colour was the plug on No3 compared to the rest, did it stink of fuel or oil? Check for a crack etc in the dizzy cap around No3, change cap if possible. Buy a set of spark testers and fit them to the side with No3. You should be able to see if any spark is weaker than the others. Run a...

    New Dizzy Time

Got mine from ignitioncarparts.co.uk, £130 +vat inc coil. Been running for 5 months now without problems and it's got a 2 year guarantee. Pin wise, one of them (centre?) is just an earth, so splice into the other 2 wires, don't go direct from the coil. If you can afford it and wan't to buy from...

    Hot running problems

Pay for the diagnosis mate, get it running reliably on petrol before you look for problems on the gas side. You can spend a lot of money replacing parts to no effect. If 1 cylinder was out it would run a bit rough but would still start and run.

    Hot running problems

I'd pay someone to check out the sensors before you replace anything else. Cost me £35, with someone who had access to Autodata on the computer. The problem you have affects both petrol and lpg.

    V8 distributors?

Check out ignitioncarparts.co.uk they should be able to sort you out. Recently bought a whole new dizzy for £110 with a 2 year guarantee. Works perfectly.

Range Rover p38 V8 LPG expert needed. Northern England

Have the vehicle crypton tuned, cost you £40 and could save a lot of money. I wouldn't spend anymore without knowing the problem. If there's a problem with valves or seats this should show up in the tests, as will any emission problems. Should also be able to tell you if the dizzy is working...

    Free Lpg Tuning

Hi Folks, There have been a few posts lately which could be down to problems with lpg systems. I completed a Romano installer's course at Autogas a few years ago but haven't much experience with other system software. Recently I purchased the leads and software for loads of other systems and...

    end of my tether

Find out as much info as you can on the manufacturer of the lpg system and post it here. Also have a look on the water hoses etc for dates. I'll see if I can find someone for you.

Is the ignition likely to cause this problem.

Good luck with the fault codes/diagnosis. I don't have a part number unfortunately, as all the numbers are on the bottom and I can't see them even with a mirror.

Is the ignition likely to cause this problem.

P.S. If you can get to an lpg tuner they can adjust the system to either start on gas or change over at a lower rpm. Rover changes at 1600rpm for example, and my old VW LT (carb) starts on gas all year round.

Is the ignition likely to cause this problem.

It is possible to test the fuel pressure regulator (2.5bar) but I don't think it's a diy job. It's also in a bloody awkward spot, right at the back of the l/h cylinder head. I'm still looking for a replacement. Lucas have stopped making them so it'll be an aftermarket job, when I manage to find...

Is the ignition likely to cause this problem.

If it's fine on lpg which takes its readings from the ecu and sensors then it doesn't seem likely that there's anything wrong with the sensors etc. You could try disconnecting the MAF sensor and checking for holes in the big pipe which connects it to the plenum. This should help to rule out air...
