Only the early model had it in the engine bay , It's behind the rear left wheel arch ? I think the best compromise on oil for the TD4 would be to use 5w-40 fully synthetic . The 5w is good for cold starts , The 40 will be thicker for my 75,000 mile engine & will also please the 10w-40 users...

The noise is nothing to do with the FBH , But if you have one there will be an exhaust pipe below nearside ( left ) bumper ? On some models the AC comes on automatically when you select the screen setting on left dial ( past the 2 0 clock mark), The AC button does not light up when this...

Maybe watch the video then as it's not that :p Looks like it only does it when it's on up/screen setting ? on some model this is when the aircon works ( but no light on aircon button ) Does the aircon work or makes that noise ?

I don't remember any post on here where one had broken . It should be good for 200,000 plus miles . The auxiliary belts are 96,000 miles . Start with a full service & include the gearbox , IRD & rear diff oil change .

You want to add a sunroof :confused: Posts on here are normally about problems with them not working & leaking :eek:

I used silicon grease on the seal on mine , Seems to have done the trick . I would not use silicon & If the car sounds as nice as you make out then would go for a new £180 sunroof :)

They used 5w-30 13 years ago in mine so it's not just the new one's :)

Your lucky to have a 2001 freelander that the sunroof still works . The sunroofs do rust quiet bad , I would 1st remove the glass pane - Remove the plastic covers each side ( inside ) then the 6 torxs screws T20 , The glass panel can then be removed , This will alow you to lube the runners &...

Annual or yearly is something that happens once a calendar year ! I change oil & filter every year .

That why I only use correct grade fully sythectic oil as it will last the service interval ! VW have a 2 year or 20000 mile long life oil service but only if you use the correct 5w-30 fully syth to there 504 or 507 spec , Use 10w-40 semi in a VW 1.9tdi PD engine and it would not last very...

5w-30 fully synthetic is the oil used by landrover when I used to have it serviced by them , I have carried on using that grade of oil on mine . Using 10w-40 semi would be going backwards in time to pre 2000 cars , Oil technology has moved on . Will the 10w-40 semi oil last the 12000 mile...

For the same price I would have got the Halfords 5w-40 fully syth for the TD4 :confused:

I got a genuine one second hand of ebay , Came with bolts & single electric's cable/plug , Easy to fit bolts strait on leaving the towing eye in place , Electric plug is behind drivers side rear plastic panel in boot , It hidden slightly as it's in one of the hole there plugged into a bracket ...

I would go with droplinks also , Mine is on it's second set of genuine one's Do fit genuine LR droplinks as the after market one's don't last long ! It's normally the top ball joint that's gone .

Yes yours is clean , Just replace when dirty !

Yes that filter is correct as it should be there , Just needs replacing if dirty .

Horrible looking , Also looks like it's parked in a disabled / wheelchair space :rolleyes:
