I used POR15 engine enamel,not cheap, but its a great product, So I might do manifold, but my credit cards a bit maxed for the moment. :eek:

I dont have a standard oil bath type filter for my restoration of my 1971, 2.1/4 petrol. My question is, if I use a bolt on to carb K&N air filter, what do I do with the crank case breather? I think if I had the oil bath type, it connects inline to the carb.:D

Oh, I see. I bought a donor landy for spares, these beautys were on it, 4 off... Cost me 300 quid though, but I made that back selling stuff on ebay, and still had loads of parts for mine. wheels inc. Are mud pluggas any good?

My steel wheels were caped in years of paint and surface rust. Lots of paint stripper, and a wire brush cup on my 4" grinder sorted that.. gave it a nice good primer, plus a satin black top coat. allow about 3 hours per wheel though, but so worth the effort.:D

Mine is going a matte black. If you see my post "my first land rover " you will see the thing in the making. Gone for a gloss chassis, soon to be waxoyled black. Satin black for the wheels, easy rinse off mud etc. Satin black bulkhead, easy rinse of oil etc in engine bay. Then matte black...

Hi, its funny you should ask if its a diesel or petrol... it started life as a petrol, but was converted to a diesel (badly) there is evidence on the back of the ignition switch that it has been tampered with, its held together with cable ties. I have them in the correct positions on ignition- solenoid, but the only thing is I dont have is the alternator/oil pressure connected up to main harness or solenoid, I left it off because I was trying to prove the engine. Does it need to be connected to run engine? I thought it just charged the...

I managed to sus out the new loom, so alls well on that front. Wired up the solenoid etc too, so I could start the beasty. It fired up, but as soon as the ignition key was released to position 2, it died. Tried again, started but died when released, I started flicking between 2 and 3 when it...

As some of you may know I have another post, (my first land rover, series 3, 88") I bought a loom brand new from autosparks, spent most of the day trying to fit it. There are wires I cant ID. Instead of a bunch of green and white wires with spade connectors for the fuse box, they have cut them...

I have done the bulkhead in a satin, but the body work will be a matte black, with a matte laquer on to protect it.

A few extra pics, showing home made stainless steel bulkhead brackets and steering rack bracket. Cleaned and painted throttle linkages, and painted then waxoyled rear axle. DXF's available for brackets if anyone needs it..:D
