    p38 whining

Driving along I can hear a whining noise but not when I use the accelerator. I greased all my nipples today . Would this have anything to do with it? Sounds like it's coming from the front. Thanks as always

    Dodgy front wheel bearing

All sorted . Bought a new torque wrench to ensure the correct tightness. The loctite was to secure the hub carrier bolts . Replaced the axle oil seal as well. Next job is to take it all apart again to do the ball joints. Had some quotes in the region of £600 to do all 4 outer ones and a...

    P38 front hub

I order mine from http://www.shop4autoparts.net/. I got a new hub rather than a wheel bearing . The only thing is you don't get a replacement hub nut. I noticed that when I took off the old hub the driveshaft is easy to get out . My one has a slightly damaged oil seal so have ordered one of...

    Dodgy front wheel bearing

Removed the old hub tonight. It all came apart quite easily but the hub flange had seized to the carrier. Loads of wd40 and loads of walloping and off it came. Fitted the new hub but will take it off again as I will change the driveshaft oil seal as it seems a bit deformed. Ordered new genuine...

I thought these cars couldn't be sold on due to security implications and they were destroyed. I could be wrong though.

    Dodgy front wheel bearing

When I fitted my new wheels I rocked them to make sure they were seated properly before lowering the car . The nearside front the wheel was firm on the hub but the whole hub moved. When driving it does get quite twitchy on the steering and also the abs and traction faults are displayed. So had a...

Today was spent putting my new brakes on the car as follows, Brembo rear discs, pattern front discs (Brembo out of stock) , new pads all round, new caliper sliders all round as most of mine were seized, new disc fixing screws and then the 20" Range Rover Sport diamond finish alloys with genuine...

    p38 Brake accumulator

Hi Thanks for the replies, pressed brake pedal 35 times to make sure then had to loosen my lpg body to get to the brake pump then removed the 3 nuts holding it down and twisted it so I could get a 22mm spanner underneath. All sorted now.

    P38 Rolling Resto

Been busy lately, fitted the replacement brake accumulator then made a start on changing the discs and pads. The brake disc retaining screw heads where all butchered so had to beat them off and so far have found 3 seized caliper sliders (still have a rear caliper to take off), so have ordered...
