Sounds like somethings amiss, mine's got a lot more go than either of my previous Tdi's and that's a standard tune. Have a drive in another one to compare it if you can before stumping up any cash, £12500 is a fair wedge.

Possibly a poor map. I have a mate who has a remap (it was on when he bought it) and while it shifts, it doesn't seem to have the bottom end my standard tune has.

If that's the first Td5 you've driven, have a drive in another one as a comparison. My current Defender is the first Td5 I've owned but it pulls well through the rev range so maybe something's not quite right with the one you drove. And yes, Td5's have a DMF.

According to Land Rovers price list, all new Defenders are plus VAT (they're all classed as commercials now irrespective of seats, windows etc including the XS). If you're buying it second hand from someone who isn't VAT registered then there shouldn't be any VAT as they have already took the...

Only with axle locks mate. Centre diff lock just locks the propshafts together, individual wheels can still lose drive/turn/spin at different rates due to the open diff in each axle.

T/C is only standard on the top model, with all the others it's an option so many don't have it.

I tried 2 stroke and didn't notice any difference, so tried millers instead. I had some 2 stroke and diesel pre mixed in a fuel can & the amount of 2 stroke you put in the diesel (1:200), doesn't turn it red.
