    salisbury?

some military spec 90's had HD rear diffs. Now, assuming your 90 is all "standard" as it came from the factory and hasn't been molested, you can follow the following guides, although it may not be 110% accurate (if anyone has been fiddling with it) so, standard drum braked 90 rear axle will...

    defender 90 td5 transfer box

I've got x-eng disk brake on mine, so didn't need to worry about the two threaded holes :D Yeah, they are quite weighty arn't they... about 50kg. fun to push up in on your own  although it got in a free bit of chest-press weight training, saved me a gym session

    defender 90 td5 transfer box

Did mine on saturday in the 110. it drives lovely now! at the same engine revs, about 10mph faster in each gear, or the same speed but less engine noise. all in all, with lunch break/fiddle on the PC break/cleaning up my mess on the drive/fitting cubby box, stereo, floor rubbers,gearstick...

    Puma Lemon?

Maybe selecting low range to get yourself moving (this will save a lot of stress on the clutch), then shift up into high range once the vehicle (And horsebox) is doing a respectable speed.

    90 V8 rebuild list

How long is a piece of string? you might just want to change the suspension rubbers, brake pipes and give it a lick of paint, OR, you might want to change every bolt, nut & washer and little plastic trim clip... depends on how far you want to go really. Best bet, is download microcat...

Bit missing off my suspension...whats the name?

Front and rear lower (And front upper) bushes are all the same anyway.

    Onboard compressor

The york 210 compressor is ideal for OBA, i've got a couple in the garage, and keep looking on how to graft one to my Td5, but i think there just isn't enough room to mount it. Shame as they give 8cfm of air @ 90psi. would be great for running a rattle gun.

    td5 runs like a pile of **** .

Why should 168000 miles be the end of its life? worst case, a rebore, over size pistons, grind the crank and new shells, engine will be (nearly) as good as new. plus it would be a good chance to get it balanced and the head worked on slightly.

    Spare wheel stolen

That tyre foam stuff is rubbish (IMO). My sister has a BMW M3, it doesn't come with a spare :rolleyes: but a can of this muck. she got a flat last year and the tyre had split slightly (OK, they're low profile rubber bands compared to proper tyres like LR ones) but the foam wouldn't...

    Hyperthetically!!

35x12.50x15/16's fit fairly easily, or 33x12.50 if you don't want to mess up your gearing too much. Or push the boat out and get a set of the old avon treadlites (I think simex did a similar version), something like 15.5" wide!

    Onboard compressor

The old 90/110's did come with A/C. For 4 cyl engines (2.25/2.5 petrol,2.5diesel,2.5 TD) the compressor was part # ERC6480. various mounting brackets: ERC5151 for 2.25 petrol & diesel,2.5 petrol with twin belts ETC4882 for 2.5 diesel & petrol with single belt ETC4197 adaptor plate, for...

    Best way to distribute power

Not sure about suppliers, but they (the fuse box) will be fine to handle an amp or two. Most amps have a 30 or 40 amp fuse, no worse than some decent spotlights. the last one i did in a landcruiser, has just come back from an Africa trip. fusebox was running the fridge, 500w amp, spots and...

td5 oil in wiring harness .

go to your ECU (under the RH seat), pull the red plug off (As this is the engine plug, the black one goes to the dashboard area) and look for oil staining. Here's a write up on how to change it, and what to look for

    salisbury rear disc conversion

that tag-washer worked a treat. Had i had more time/enthusiasm, i'd have cut one out of a solid piece and had the "flat" on the washer instead of the tag, or welded up the space and ground it flat again.

    TD5 Oil Rotor Filter

That's what they do, they're supposed to sound like that, as they spin at about 20,000RPM It's when you don't hear them, you know they're blocked or broken.
