5/30 fully or 10/40 semi

It can only be an injector or the head, the pump is in the tank at the back, there is no pump in the engine !

Sounds like you have head/head gasket problems i'm afraid, there isn't anything else that can cause the issue !

I haven't done one for a while, but if i remember correctly it comes out the top, there are 3 bolts & its much easier if you drop the exhaust front pipe .

On the later vehicles these came blanked off from factory, The pipe was still bolted to the bell housing but the rubber bit on the oil cooler is a blank & the metal pipe is cut like yours shows in the picture .

The TD5 suffers from the signal wire between the throttle pedal & ecu chafing through on the bulk head & causing intermittent throttle response that you are reporting.

Ive got a 2000 X reg TD5 with 150000 miles on it & it is perfect, no issues at all ! I also have a very good 300TDi in my compound that a customer booked in for mot, clutch & timing belt , rang him after a few days to let him know it was finished, that was 18 mths ago !!!

I nearly lost my 90 here, water was half way up the windscreen ON THE INSIDE, there are some deep hidden holes in this ford, it is fine if you just drive alongside the bridge !

Pressure washed the chassis, cleaned the whole thing inside & out, oh and changed the oil & filters as the seal split on the large filter & leaked oil all over the drive !!
