What shall I do wiv Scratchy..? (110 200TDi...)

You might make more breaking it, but if you gonna keep the engine doors etc then maybe not. Is a pain in the arse having bits everywhere as well, easier to get rid in 1 go. Should sell ok with mot til Sept, but not if you take the doors off it first!!

    What to buy??

£2k is disco money for sure. But don't expect any land rover to be any less of a money pit than any other car you've had in the past!

    Ins/ Who can i try?

I'm 23 with Admiral also got zero NCB as I've been a named driver until I bought the landy. Was about £1k on a 1990 110 CSW 200tdi. None of the specialists would touch me as under 25 and no NCB. But next year they will! That was on a multicar policy though so I think they give you about 20% off...

    Help! Fuel lift pump

Well, I took it on a good run and stopped smoking once heated up. Left it for hour to cool and then started her up again and very little smoke... Will see whats its like in the morning from stone cold. It hasn't run for 2-3 weeks so could in theory be as discomania suggested a build up of water...

    Help! Fuel lift pump

Thanks all. Sorted it by starting for a sec and then it would pump ok. Stuck a load of diesel in it now lets see if that helps with the white smoke

    Help! Fuel lift pump

So my 110 200tdi has been producing a lot of white smoke on start up at cold. Been running on about half veg oil half diesel. I thought I'd change the fuel filter as read that could be causing the smoke of it was all blocked up with crap. Old one actually didn't look to bad. Only changed it...

Pics of your landy stuck or failing

Ruts too deep Prop failure Cross axled Didn't see the water on other side of hill at a p+p. That mistake cost me a new rad, alternator and starter motor! Not stuck for once!

Help needed - black exhaust smoke, overheating, rattling hot engine, conking out

To answer your question couple pages ago, not sure if you still need one, but AJD Landrovers over in Hoddesdon have a pretty good rep. Not used them myself for any work but pick up parts there every so often when I need something quickly.

Insa Turbo Special Tracks as Everyday Tyres?

Depends if you mind the noise from them! Landys aren't exactly quiet anyway. They're not great in the wet either, no muds are though.

Twin Cab, Crew Cab, Double Cab

Very nice looking landy you got there!

Twin Cab, Crew Cab, Double Cab

I like the look of double cab but I think I'd prefer to have a proper door at the back. What is the advantage of going double cab? I converted the back of my CSW to van sides and took out the seats.

    Rear prop

Missus just got home and caught me degreasing rear prop in the kitchen.... not happy. My only defence was well it is dark outside and look I've put newspaper on the floor...

Battery light more revs the brighter it gets

Probably new alternator needed then, had same thing on mine couple months ago. If you've got a multimeter, put it across battery you can check if alternator is charging it and then you will definitely know if is the alternator. You should get over 14v reading when you've got the revs up a bit...

    advice .. 50th anniversary vs built 90 V8

Can't really tell what parts were used in the video. I'm sure someone will have something bad to say about the pro comp dampers though. But looks like they've done a good job of it all. No one would do a ground up rebuild if they didn't care. Sooner or later you will need to do work to the...

    Rock sliders/Nerf bars

It is very nice. I've got same bumper. But need to fit the winch. On topic, I've got tree sliders from Richmond on my 110 and are very good and good price too. They do take some fiddling to get on, block of wood and hammer as someone else said though and they'll go on. Came with the bolts that...

    advice .. 50th anniversary vs built 90 V8

If it were me I'd probably go for the 4.6 due to the amount of work it has had done and looks like they've taken a lot of care over it. The 50th may be the sensible option in terms of ever selling it on and ease of getting insurance. However I'd get the insurance quoted on the 4.6 before I made...
