    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

    Check the fuel cooler, (cylinder under inlet manfold) the o-rings can fail and it will only loose coolant when engine off (seals shrink) and it is a little at a time not dripping

    Sound safe then, if no pressurising or cross contamination, just check your pump, you never know she might be letting you off lightly

    Had a butchers at your other thread, are you still experiencing pressurised header tank? And getting water in the cab?, reason I ask is the aforementioned disco has a broken water pump which obviously with the coolant sensor being at the top of the engine did not pick up that it was overly hot...

    Take off lower water pump hose and stick your finger in, engine off obviously, see if you can turn/feel the impeller, if it spins then replacement pump time, have you checked thermostat? I will have to go read your other thread on your first problem

    Water pump is driven off power steering pump, back to back, impeller on the pump has probably worked off the shaft, had this on a td5 disco

    Soot clouding? Check boost hoses for splits=overfilling and black smoke

    could be perished valve stem seals, this can cause smoke at low revs as the oil pressure drops allowing it to creep past, but as you say your turbo is goosed there is still oil passing through the bearings which as they are worn lowers the oil pressure anyhow, best bet sort turbo then look at...

    said trailer law is a minefield, i passed after 1/1/97 so took the test, i paid £145 to do it on a Saturday £90 through the week, it has to be taken at a certain testing station as it is based on the HGV test, Trailer needs to be wider and taller than the towing vehicle (cattle trailer used)...

    either like the above, but also cps sensor is mounted in the bellhousing, if this gets damaged it will cause starting issues.
