I've read that the biggest you can really get on standard springs is about 32-33"... Although if you had a big bit of cardboard you could cut out a 35" or 37" circle and then offer it up agaisnt the arches to see if it will.

Excellent cheers, picked some clear coat plastic primer up from B&Q along with the super satin black spray. Just wet and dryed it down and put 2 coats of primer on now just got to wait an hour to spray the satin black on and i'll take some pictures of the results good or bad :) Cheers again...

That's actually come out really well! Did you just use normal satin black spray paint?

I have tried searching everywhere but I can't find much information on these. I want to replace the surrounds on my 90 as they have faded and gone grey, however they are the older style that require 6 screws and they are not held in place by the indicators and sidelights as with the new style...

How much have you wound the idle screw in by? Might be worth trying to wind it in some more and see if that helps the problem?

Hmmm the Venetian red looks a bit darker there than a Landy I've seen resprayed in it...Here are some pictures of a resprayed 90 in Venetian Red: That looks very similar to my colour. I have ordered a can of each spray paint from Britpart to see which is a better match, should be here...

Right I've got it down to one of two possibilities, it's either LRC440 which is Venetian Red or LRC378 which is Masai Red...these are the only shades of red around when my Land Rover was made (reg May 1985) The Masai Red was around long before on the Series Landys and the early 90's and 110's...

There is just a blank space where the paint code and trim is meant to be...looks like they couldn't be bothered to fill it in. Any suggestions on how else I could find out the paint code??

Yeah that could be a good plan. Would I be better off going for a Defender 200tdi engine than the Disco 200tdi? Any rough ideas of the cost for fitting the engine in a garage? Would I be looking at around £300 in parts and labour plus about £300-500 for a decent engine?

Well unfortunately there were no places for a service or MOT untill next weekend. But I still had a quick look at her over the weekend and managed to sort out the problem of the engine stalling. Turned out that the idle screw was all the way out so I turned that in a few turns and it now returns...

RESULT!! With the new battery fitted and a good warm up of the glow plugs it turned over nice and quickly. However it took a little while to fire back into life and the new battery started getting a bit flat so I hooked up the new heavy duty jump leads to the Td5 battery and away she went...
