    Nah, Ramsgate ;) :fencing:

    Rear view camera.

That's a nice mod but I have no shortage of places to mount the camera and the monitor, that's not a problem at all, just getting thoughts on where I need to wire it in so it's always on when the power is on. As to illegality of having a display on...what is a satnav then? ;)

    Rear view camera.

Around here I think we'd be better with it always on. LOTS of idiots on mopeds and as much as we may dislike them we would rather not be wiping them off the bumper just because they were playing stupid tailgating games and hiding behind the spare wheel...

    Rear view camera.

I'm not the best at electrics, will it still be always on if it is hooked into the reverse or would it only be coming on when she hits reverse?

    Rear view camera.

Ok, picked up a rear view camera as the in-law wasn't so happy about rear visibility (kids walking out and so on, I can see her point). It's all simple enough, attach camera and monitor, run video wire then hook it into the 12v wiring, my question is where would be best? Our has the...

    Noises...normal or not?

Will check tomorrow, I know where the info is it's just not something I had thought to look at as they are "just tyres" rather than some tasty mud-pluggers hehe
  7. L

    Noises...normal or not?

Would the tyre noise be more noticeable at lower pressure? I checked the tyres when we got home as hadn't thought to before that howling and three of them were at least 10psi down.

    Noises...normal or not?

Not sure on the specifics of the tyres but there is no obvious signs of this happening in the arches (was checking the turrets more thoroughly today) The noise does have more of a metallic ring to it but I shall investigate further (checking tyres for wear in those spots and so on). Cheers buddy :)

    Noises...normal or not?

Ok folks, did a decent run in the disco today and loved every second but there were two noises standing out that may be perfectly normal...or may be something to get checked so here's the question: "normal or not" 1: Howling on smooth roads under acceleration/high speed. The howling drops when...

    Autobox S&M warning lights

Older Landies are about getting hands on, it goes with the territory I'm afraid. If you were hoping to get something that was going to be a guaranteed daily runner with no issues then I reckon you knocked on the wrong door, I've spent the past week working on ours - it was a school runner and...

    honesty please

Look at the price of top quality 80s defenders nowadays, even without the offroad gubbins if they have been restored they cost a similar price to when they were new. Older Land Rovers are a great example of a vehicle that loses value heavily a few years after it is bought but then gets it back...

    Autobox S&M warning lights

S&M lights flash when you aren't getting enough S&M ... try and be more adventurous in the bedroom. (sorry, couldn't resist)

So folks, what do we make of these kits?

    Yes mate, very tidy :)

So folks, what do we make of these kits?

Nah, I actually prefer the black originals, I'm not a fan of brightly coloured bits on a Disco...if I could do me a nice matte black '90 then we'd be talking ;)

    Ignition help!

Thanks for that James :) Gotta ask though: "glow plugs aren't needed for a TDi", am I missing a joke or something here or do you mean it should start no matter their condition?

The Story so far, My snotbag disco...

MORE MORE MORE! Loving this thread and even though I'm not going to be doing any of the offroad mods anytime soon you have highlighted some more rust spots to check, especially the turrets :)

    Ignition help!

Ok folks, the landy has been working fine since we got her but has been sat still for a few days with me doing some bits on her. This morning we wanted to take her out but the engine wouldn't fire which I put down to a possible glow issue because we're not sure when she was last serviced. As...

So folks, what do we make of these kits?

So perhaps just replace them as they wear out with poly ones rather than grabbing a whole kit and trying to whack it out in a weekend? Easier to fit would definitely be a big bonus for me haha
  19. L

So folks, what do we make of these kits?

I guess that's one less job then, guess we'll just replace as needed...just trying to freshen her up from a tired but healthy 15yr old to something closer to factory fresh so to speak.

So folks, what do we make of these kits?

Discovery Mk 1 FLOFLEX Polyeurethene Bush Kit I've trawled enough to know the potential benefits and that fitting is likely to involve a lot of swearing and quite likely some bleeding but what do we think, worth it?
