I have heard that a light spray with 3&1 light oil will do the same job as the K&N oil but have not tried this. My K&N needs cleaning so will try giving it a bath in hot soapy water and see what happens.

Does anyone know where the fuel return/overflow pipe coming off number 4 injector goes to on a 300 tdi Disco. The pipe is missing from mine and I think it is drawing in air into the fuel system. The disco is very hard to start if left sitting for a week but starts ok every day when used daily.

My 300tdi is on 221500 and runs like a clock. Getting harder to start, changed the glow plugs and heater relay but still hard to start from cold. Doesn't burn oil and does 30+ mpg. Just weld it up every year for MOT and keep going.

The haynes manual will give you a specific length to set your track rod ends to. If you do this first and then fit it to the disco you will not be too far out. I have also used an extending caravan awning pole to gauge the distance between the wheels at the front and back of the rim or tyre...

Dayco is original fitment and I have used them with no problems. Make sure you don't overtension the belt when using the dial torquewrench to set tension as the value is quite low.
