Make sure the pistons move in and out freely as the rears tend to seize. If one of the old pads is much thinner than the other ten the piston on the thicker pad side may be sticking or the pads can sometimes rust and stick in the caliper housing. Use a can of break cleaner around the pistons...

All sorted the 4-14 code although not listed is related to front left wheel. Checked the resistance on that wheel sensor and got no reading, changed the sensor, cleared the 4-14 code and happy days.

200tdi and early 300tdi seats bolt in through the floor but later 300 tdi seats bolt in at the front and rear from around 95 on. I have a 94 300 tdi and the seats will not fit my 95 300 tdi at all. Not sure if rangy Classic seats are a similar fitting but P38 seats would be nice

Could be the CV joint as they will click or rumble on full lock. jack up the front of the car and check wheels for play in case it is the wheel bearings which are under more load when cornering.
