The exact location is the problem! Don't want to have to take the headlining out again if I ca help it. The wet area is the front right corner of the drivers door & windscreen. No other areas of the headlining are damp. Think I'll apply some sealant to the getter and see what happens.

I get 3 miles down the road to a traffic queue and you can see the temp guage go back down as I wait at the lights. Heater takes ages to warm up.

No not yet, sort of forgot over the summer now need to give it a try.

My guage goes from cold to normal temp after about 10 mins of driving but if I then stop at traffic lights temp goes down again. Once fully up to temp never goes past mid point. Heater takes a long time to warm up in colder weather.

Well it will be 6 months since last done, oil in my engine goes black after a couple of hundred miles.

It might be overkill but it certainly can't do any harm.

I use the Disco for towing a caravan in the summer and thought fresh oil would be good for the winter months when it just has cold starts to contend with. My mate works for a Jag/LR spares distributor so I can get the filters and oil for less than £30 + vat.

Do you think? I have read many times that 3000 mile changes prolong the life of older engines.

I have a similar leak. Heavyduty rubber matts catch the drip from the cardboard trim under the glove box. There is a cut out and if I put my finger in I can feel the foam lining behind the card is slightly damp. Interesting to hear the bukhead theory but mine gets wet when parked sloping...
