Have you deffo got input and output pipes the right way round?

It is primarily a hydraulic pump,but will pump some air

When my Britpart lift pump failed (almost instantly),it ruptured the diaphram allowing fuel into camshaft area.This caused a strong smell of fuel until fixed.Increasing oil level on dipstick confirmed it. Sounds like you have similar or air ingress somewhere on fuel lines-What are your leak off...

My TD5 has been very reliable-just turn key and go-so much better than my 300 tdi,but that may have been neglected before I had it

I am coming up to two years of running TD5 on true biodiesel-no issue thus far,previously ran a 300tdi for 2-3 years and yes had to change injection pump drive end seal when it failed.But at 15p per litre,cost savings are massive,already gone past the break even point for TD5 purchase.

Treat urself to a LED light rather than #### about with a 55w heater-!0w Led will be tons bright enough for what you want and will pull less than an amp

The black box is part of the original immobilizer circuit-underneath that black thing is the single wire to the solenoid-normally a tamper proof bit of metal needs cutting away carefully,to expose the solenoid underneath-or cut a slot in the shear bolts and undo them if you have access
