Hold window switch down to fully open windows and then hold up all in one motion to close window. Should get 'Windows Set' message up. Repeat x 3 and same for sunny.

    air ride suspension P38

Yes, you should have got the second one - RANGE ROVER P38 AIR SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR LINER & SEAL. I never did work out where a couple of the replacement rubber seals went though! They weren't on the bits I took out! Spares for another job no doubt.

    P38 Key fob repair

Back on the subject of keys - does anyone know where I can get hold of a cheap new case for my P38 key? Son dropped set of keys the other day and piece where key fits to keyring broke off. Key working fine but pain in the arse as now separate from other keys.

    Insurance Co thieves

Like Hawaii, I found Swift were quite cheap. I ended up going with Aviva but did have to take a hit on the excess - they all seem to be loading this. Ended up with premium of £314 but with a £350 excess. My opening renewal from Direct Line was £580 - up from £340 the previous year with no...

    air ride suspension P38

Dopes, If you were asking me what I bought, it's here: - symlise | eBay 1 x New Cylinder Liner, 1 x New Piston Seal and Filter. (Top item offered). It was worth a gamble as opposed to spending a minimum of £100 on a recon pump. You should be able to see quite a bit of scoring on...

    air ride suspension P38

Sounds like the problem I had. Pump seemed to be working fine - took off the air pipe and was surprised at how little pressure was there. Took pump to pieces (quite simple) and saw all the scoring on the piston ring and worn/knackered seal. Bought replacement bits off ebay (yes - EBAY!) and...

    fuel consumption p38 4.6

At last someone with figures similar to mine!!! Sorry Chris, can't offer any advice, but I'm in the 8 - 10 catagory with my MPG. I've got LPG but it really doesn't seem to make any difference (with either lpg or petrol) except that LPG is 76p per litre. I only tend to use her on little...

P38 drivers window not resetting and clunking

Definately window regulator. I've owed two rangies and both needed doing within no time at all. Cost about £40.00 for Brit Part from Island. Fairly easy to fit, but need to drill out the rivets and possibly re-rivet back into place. Mind the window glass!

    What? EAS Problem? Sorted?

Cheers Wammers and thanks for explaining it quite so simply - much appreciated!!! The door open message has never been on (apart from when the doors are open) so maybe there is more to this. It's currently working ok so might be best to leave it until it becomes a more persistant issue.

    What? EAS Problem? Sorted?

It has now happened a couple of times. Maybe a coincidence but have pushed the handles in securely (as mentioned above only a couple of mm) the EAS rose up. Both times the doors were definately shut. I'll have play with cleaning the door mechanisms this weekend or do you chaps think I'm...

    What? EAS Problem? Sorted?

Cheers for the reply Datatek. I had a look on there before posting and although helpful, I can't find anything about the way that the truck/EAS detects that the doors are open/closed i.e. where the switches/sensors are. I wanted to know if the sensors are replaceable or could be cleaned...

    What? EAS Problem? Sorted?

Morning guys. My P38 2000 4.0 hse has had a bit of an intermittant EAS problem. Sometimes it's fine and other times it sits at the access level and when I start the truck it flashes to try and get to normal mode. The bottom access light stays lit but the only other light on is the flashing...

    Eas unlock software.. Help please..

Datatek, I had a play around with the heights on my rangie the other day as the ride is a bit loose. They all measured high to the recommended values so I set about changing them gradually. I didn't seem to have much luck which was either due to my small increments being too small or my total...

    P38 too thirsty?

As others have said, your economy is bloody good. I've had two P38's 4.0 Petrols and both returned around 8 - 10 on town or short runs. Did manage almost 14 on one run! The LPG one I've got now gives me about about 2 miles a litre (9-10 mpg) but it is only 70p a litre!!!

An economy question for ALL P38 owners...

100 miles? Easy - £50.00 Normally need to fill up every 200 miles and it costs me about the hundred pound mark!!!
  17. T

    Holy crap.. 13.57 MPG!?!

I dream of the day I get 13.57 outta my 4.0 V8!!! I get 9 - 10 MPG but generally only use it on short runs. Grin and bear it mate!

    Rough idle after MAF clean

Hi James, Glad to hear yours should be sorted. Mine has been checked all over on the wiring and everything seems fine. My mechanic is about to take an axe to it! We've even tried a replacement fuel pump as he thought there may be a fault there. Still no difference. I'll speak to him...

    Rough idle after MAF clean

I bit the bullet - bought a genuine MAF and guess what? Still no bloody different!!! Problem is my mechanic can only look at it for about 5 mins with the engine running and then the engine warms up and the problem goes away. We then have to wait a few hours for the engine to be cold again. Not...

    Rough idle after MAF clean

Turbo, I must confess to a ****part at 1/3 the cost of of the genuine. D'you think that could be the problem? I was told that they'd not had any problems beofore - but then that would be the line wouldn't it. Best to return it and pay the extra?
