    Activation code for Lynx.

Yes I've been rash! Bought the Lynx Diagnostics unit, what a nonsense to get the unlocking code! Question:does any body know when and where I enter this? I've loaded the program on to my laptop, no problem but it will not allow me to go any further than the help pages which don't cover this at...

    Injector adjustment, tips please?

Back to you on this one Mark: Bought the tool that you recommend and reset the injectors, they were all out about 4 turns! Now correctly set at one turn it's a different engine though still very rough but lots more go. You my find interesting a "utube" video: type in "Td5" and you should see an...

Thanks for your teply Mark, still not able to undo fan shaft or turn over engine, could you please ley me know the name of the tool to which you refer? Its of course the pulley that needs to be held . I might be able to get out two of the bolts holding the pulley to the shaft and then hold it...

    Injector adjustment, tips please?

Fascinating article, I do like to know the theory behind anything that I'm working on. Thanks for that Mark. Back to my troubles; tried to check/reset the injector gaps but was unable to get the fan off! Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can hold the pulley, yes I've tried a smart...

    Noisy head

Thanks for coming back to me, so promptly, Mark. I bought the car rather in haste as my other Discovery TD5 would have failed the mot on chassis rot. So I do have the two cars together to compare. I've had the 04 model just over a month. I did a full oil change within about a month of getting...

    Injector adjustment, tips please?

Can I come in on this one please? Should the injector be full of fuel or empty? Surely if there's fuel in it you would not get it " bottoming out"! Something else that I don't really understand: the injector plunger is pushed down and would deliver a full shot of fuel except that a solenoid...

    Noisy head

Hi there, I wonder if any of you chaps have any ideas to help, me with a very "sick" sounding td5. There is rather a lot of noise coming from the cylinder head. Sounds that are reminiscent of badly ajusted tappets on a side valve engine. Now at some time before my ownership the cylinder head...

    Changing Oil Rotor Filter

If it's of any help; did mine a week or ywo back. I found that at some time or other the thread nearest the head had been replaced with nut and bolt, impossible to get at without removing oil filter. I do feel that both jobs should be done at the same time anyway so it's no trouble just remember...

    Introduction

Thank you both for your welcomes and concerns over my TD5. Engine is very noisy on the top end and is very underpowered. The head gasket was replaced a while back and to judge by "collateral" damage done I suspect that the job was done by a troop of monkeys. I rather think that the injectors...

    Alternative to Nanocom.

Does anyone know of any alternative to the Nanacom? Does any company make an interface and program that would enable me to diagnose and reset the "ECU" on my 2004 Discovery TD5? After all I have quite a mass of computer power; old desktop, old laptop, new notebook, new phone and new tablet.

    Nonocomm

Thanks for that information everyone. Is there no alternative? Does any company make an interface that would do the same job using one or other of my existing "computer power" devises.

    Nonocomm

I've heard mention of something called "Nonocomm", in conection with engine diagnosis. Can someone please enlighten me over this. When I tried "Google" all I found was a pilots head set! Having a number of engine issues with my 04 TD5.

Hi there, just joined myself and I'm not very far from you at all, in Pen-coed. I bought my second TD5, the first would fail its mot on rust! Bought in haste now regretting as I really should have checked the engine and gear box rather more carefully. Anyway all the best with yours.
