No 12 bolt sheared on the last degree turn. damn it !! How do I extract ? Do I take sump off ? In middle of taking head off again..... Why did I buy a TD5 !?? :doh: I want my 300 back....

Just out of interest. What is the difference between the 3 types of gasket you can put on the TD5 ? 1 Hole , 2 Hole and 3 Hole... Apart from the 1,2,3 holes, is there any other difference ? Also., can you put a 2 Hole gasket on instead of a 1 hole.,,? If that makes any sense :-) Dons

Hi, Yes gasket had blown. Re tightened all the head bolts and problem solved :-) No pressure in coolant etc... Drained the manky stuff and put fresh coolnant in from asda...... Bad idea,.. frothed like bloody bath foam.,.... Hate blue coolant.. lol. Nicked mum's car, halford,. pink...

I've just bought an ex Navy Series 3 109 from 1981. Was a fitted with radio. Milage on it says 5,000 ? Does this mean it's possibley been round the clock ? OR, has it had a new engine. etc ? I get all the paperwork tomorrow.. Is in good condition and runs great. What do you think ?

Tightened bolts again. No white smoke. No loss of water. But seems to have alot of oil coming through intercooler ? Or is it dislodging crap from when it had the egr ?

Could be oil in the injector loom. I had same problem. Check the RED plug that goes into the ECU where the jack is next to battery. If it's full of oil it could be the problem. The preasure in the engine pushes the oil through between the copper and insulation and it eventually migrates to the...
